No one has ever been expected to "have a career".

Perhaps you mean "work for a living"?

Oh, you have a crystal ball? Could I have the winning numbers for the next lottery drawing? There is nothing that indicates that poor, uneducated "immigrants" produce brain surgeons.

Which is terrible for American kids. No immigrants ever. They offer us nothing we don't already have.

any references..?? The vast majority will not, and the U.S. produces more than enough top scoring graduates, that often have to take a back seat to diversity, preventing them from being admitted to the top colleges of their choice. Mostly from China and India, not so many from Mexico, Central and South America. Minorities most often have children much at a much younger age than Americans; children are very expensive, and these families often depend on doing low skilled jobs which don’t pay enough to survive in many cases, which are becoming fewer and far between. Also, there is the very real fact that many jobs will becoming automated in the near future. The U.S. really has no need for unskilled laborers.

Default Immigrants needed to sustain America because of low birth rates

Immigrants are just "sustaining" America? If that was true then it would be fine. Unfortunately its not.

The reality is the population is growing far more then just "sustaining" itself. And if people don't think that growth is a major reason for the growing costs of housing and rents in the more populated states like California, New York and New Jersey, then people don't understand supply and demand.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demogr...istorical_data

US population

1970 203,000,000
1980 226,545,000
1990 248.545,000
2000 281,421,000
2010 308,745,000
2019 328,915,000

That's an increase of 125 million just in my lifetime. I would say that is far more growth then just sustaining itself.

The birth rate was a lot higher in 1970 than today. We aren't hitting the replacement rate any more. If it wasn't for immigration, we'd already have a dropping population.

This is a great book on the subject:

You have a valid point.

That is nice that we have a lower birth rate then 1970 but the point is we added 20 million people in just the last 10 years or so. Or the population of New York or Florida. If we keep doing that the USA will have a population of a half a billion people in less then 100 years.

I'll take that challenge ...

U.S. students’ academic achievement still lags that of their peers in many other countries

"Recently released data from international math and science assessments indicate that U.S. students continue to rank around the middle of the pack, and behind many other advanced industrial nations."

Foreign-born STEM Workers in the United States

"Workers in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and math) play an increasingly important role in the U.S. economy. STEM occupations are critical to the country’s innovation, and STEM workers are responsible for many of the cutting-edge ideas and technologies that create jobs and raise the living standards of U.S. households. Foreign-born workers make up a growing share of the country’s STEM workforce."

They're not taking a back seat to diversity they drop out and take jobs ...

The Disappearing American Grad Student

"Many factors contribute to the gap, but a major one is the booming job market in technology. For the most part, Americans don’t see the need for an advanced degree when there are so many professional opportunities waiting for them. For some, the price is just too high when they have so much student debt already."
[quote]The U.S. really has no need for unskilled laborers.[quote]
You've got that right ...

Why some immigrant kids are more likely to pursue STEM majors

"In fact, 36% of immigrants who come to America after age 10 and who emigrate from nations whose main language is very different from English wind up majoring in STEM subjects in college, the study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences found. In contrast, around 20% of American-born college students pursue STEM majors."

You must be talking about the 43.1 million Americans who live in poverty, in one of the wealthiest nations in the world.
