Very true. The theory was that you'd pay into it although I know it is confiscated, and you'd get it back with a return upon retirement.

Go to a socialist country and you'll see true poverty. From dumpster diving in Venezuela to an average worker in Europe with a 2000 EUR salary and perhaps 100 EUR in disposable income each month after everything else goes to the government, where home ownership, a car or some money in the bank is the luxury of a few.

And we need to change our system?!?!? Talk about being SPOILED ROTTEN and having NO IDEA how good we have it!
Poor people have those things in the US because of "assistance" programs. Take that away and watch what happens. We especially have a lot of socialist free programs for children and single mothers.

Probably more than 4/10 could not define or agree what the term means to them.

Anyone that embraces socialism is either too stupid or too ignorant to know any better.

Everything works in cycles. I can see the country taking a hard left turn in the future. Not sure how many more years though.

Just like poor people in every other western country -nothing uniquely American about poor folks, who are obese and have cars, TVs etc
