So a woman can't make sure she is protected before engaging in sex if she doesn't want to get pregnant or she can't just say no?
No one said that.
Everyone points their finger at the woman but she did not get pregnant by herself. Both parties have a responsibility to use BC or refrain from sexual intercourse.
A lot of people assume all these medicaid births are due to promiscuous women who wont use BC but I still believe the increase is do to expanded medicaid and encompasses couples who intentionally put off marriage until after a child is born so that the state will pick up the tab. Most likely because they are just starting out and my not have medical coverage. Then they marry sometime after the child is born. Medicaid is also available to cover births to married couples falling withing the poverty guidelines.
Saying its the woman who gets pregnant so the responsibility should be on her shoulders is sending the wrong message. I totally believe women need to take responsibility and behave more responsibility concerning birth control but so do men. The state will hold men financially responsible. I think that would be incentive enough for men to take responsibility for there reproduction also.
Not in IL. Dems wouldn't support the bill requiring mothers to name the baby's father in order to be eligible for public assistance, you know... Medicaid, WIC, Section 8 housing vouchers, etc.

I dont know the laws on this in every state but when paternity is established the state will go after them for child support.

How about the man not engage in sex if the man does not want any possibility of the woman getting pregnant and potentially changing his life forever. That does not and will not happen.

It's not the male's role for a female to not get pregnant.
Women are privileged with the right to decide who and when sex happens. With that privilege comes responsibility.

What kind of tom****ery is that.
If women were privileged by deciding when and with who sex happens we would not live in a world where 1 in 4 women experience rape or sexual assault.
Men have an equal responsibility for safe sex. You know you dont really believe what you said. If everyone thought that way men would not be getting any hetero sex.

And if women weren't deciding when and with who sex happens, there really wouldn't be a concept of rape to begin with.

That's a lovely vision but it ain't gonna happen. While it SHOULD be the man's equal responsibility, it never seems to happen that way. Sadly. But I look at it like this. Should a woman EVER be raped? Nope. But if she is walking home alone at 3 am, she increases her chances. Ever heard the expression don't cut off your nose to spite your face?

Also, that 1 in 4 number (the often cited example is 1 in 5) is wrong. That is the repeated lie of the left. There was a huge article about it in the Weekly Standard that, no surprise, is not able to be found on Googe. Newsweek has an article about 4 pages in.
