Because he tells people they are better than other people and that all their problems can be traced back to someone else. They don't have to do anything to fix it all because Trump promises to do that for them. Imagine you don't have any power how an offer like that would look to you. Lots of people fall for that kind of thing.

One of them I know is so worried about the liberals but just lost 4 days of work due to a cocaine binge. The other one always bitching about everyone pulling the wagon has managed to show up for work about a week in 2 months. I used to have some compassion for them fighting their demons and would help them out at work. They have convinced me to reconsider helping people if these are their true colors.

It makes a person wonder when they have the worldview that improving their own situation doesn't take effort on their part. That hasn't been my experience. I may have been lucky in that my effort resulted in a better life and maybe theirs didn't and they're out of options.

Among the confirmations - which are "proven" in the sense that Google searches and locations reveal many things about ourselves......
1. People who are racist are much more likely to have voted against Obama - and then later voted FOR Trump. This is easily found by the volume of searches for certain words ONLY IN CERTAIN areas....Western Pa and some of Ohio and Upstate NY, for example. Suffice it to say the data is sound:
"Not every Trump voter is racist, but a very large percentage of racists vote for Trump"
2. Self-reporting for homosexuality is, as one would expect, slightly higher in places that tolerant it. BUT, porn searched for that type of thing...by MALES...indicates 2X the self-reporting in many conservative areas. Put another way, conservatives are much more likely to lie about it.
3. People who mention "God" in general and then in their loan application somewhere (comments, etc.) are twice as likely to default as those who do not.
Lots of other interesting stuff - but nothing that we haven't guessed and/or discussed here.
I have a family member who is a therapist in W. PA - and he has people showing up that come in and pretty much outright admit #1 above. They want him to react or to somehow bless them....he says "well, so what do you want me to do?"....
I guess it is worth $100+ per hour for some of these people to tell someone what they say everyday online.....

That's pretty bad logic. In fact there is no logic to it at all.
This is an excuse, not a reason, to support a criminal.
When you see or hear Trump you are witnessing a modern day Hitler.
How is it that anyone can believe Trump who is documented for more than 12,000 lies since elected? Trump will tell anyone what they want to hear for his own purposes. The only thing Trump has delivered is a huge tax cut for the rich and corporations and he is paying for it via your tax dollars.
Trump is insane. No question about it. Trump wants a moat filled with alligators and snakes. Trump sent staff members out to get cost estimates on the project. Trump wants to shot immigrants in the legs to slow them down. Trump purposed stopping hurricanes with nuclear bombs. Trump wants to put the homeless in internment camps. Etc. If you agree then you must be as crazy as Trump is.
Trump has trashed our Constitution and spit on our laws. If you support this type of action you are no American.
Trump is to America what Hitler was to Germany.
Hitler actually fought for Germany when he was young. Trump was too chicken.

Good thread starter. The very reason that President Trump ran for office was that he was sick and tired of politicians continuing to let Americans down. It's the same sentiment that's been shared by so many Americans, as we are tired of what Washington has done to the average law-abiding, hard-working person, as well as those in serious need. Career politicians have let us down too often, and that defeats the purpose of having a government at all. Too often, average politicians care more about their donors than their constituents. They have not fulfilled campaign promises. That's why it has taken an outsider to step in the way Trump has. He's been a doer.
When our President gets attacked, then yes, the American people who he represents get attacked, as well.
