Works for me. It’s called personal responsibility.

You'll have to leave the US if that's your position, and it's not socialism. The doctors and hospitals will still be private

I'm fine with my health insurance. I have Medicare and Blue Cross. I just don't want to pay for your insurance, too.

I have a sprinkler system in my house, my two German Shepherds will kill anyone stupid enough to trespass so my security is assured. I have 4X4’s so the roads I don’t care about and I burn biodiesel I make so no fuel tax for me, I pay cash to my doctor so my health is covered. No epidemics for me.

If you truly think that you are paying for yourself only, that is known as self insurance. If this is what you want, why not just set aside your current premium amount every month into a health care account, and use this account to pay for your own expenses? However, chances are, that one hospitalization will wipe out this account.
I don’t have health insurance. Try again. And my assets will cover anything catastrophic.

Why ask this question? The US is number one in medical innovations and yet 37th in medical care. Why not simply go to countries that have a good working plan in place and start with a duplicate of that system updating as any special needs by Americans surfaces.

For Medicare, simply remove the cap. Everyone who is entitled to Medicare pays their share regardless of income and earnings.

I also would like to see a government sponsored program whereas people who have proved themselves qualified receive a government paid medical education. In return those medical graduates agree to work 5 or 10 years at a clinic for a base wage. These clinics would be free to all patients.

Currently our medical system is based on a profit motive. The want to keep patients sick and being continually treated as they do not make money on the healthy or dead. 1 in 25 Americans now bankrupt because of medical bills. This is a travesty. Any plan is better that what we have.
When you don't know which road to take any road will do.

Get rid of "fee for service-usual and customary." All doctors on salary.
You just overnight created a doctor shortage.

You must not have private insurance nor Medicare. Have fun paying full rate out of pocket.

How about people pay for their own stuff?
