Because they feel no need to entertain a pointless political attack on Trump's 2020 opponents which was the sole purpose for his unlawful suspension of the military aid to Ukraine to begin with?

Rs are just using these impeachment proceedings to try and continue the attacks on the president's opponents which is what got him into this impeachment mess. They are doing this to distract since they cannot defend the president on the substance of the complaints against him.

Once again, we have a transcript of the call. Don’t need anyone testifying as to what they heard.
Except that the call transcript was written under the direction of trump and also contains a disclaimer that there may be missing parts.

What relevance does Hunter Biden have to trump's hearing about bribery using congressional funding?

That needs to be explored and documented, in public, on the official record. Obviously the Democrats do not want that, and Senator Graham in the article in the OP goes on to discuss some of the reasons why they do not want this explored.

This is all going to be very bad for the Democrat left supporting deep state operatives and also for Joe and Hunter Biden.
A guy with second and third hand information. A die hard anti Trump individual. I wouldn’t believe a word he said.

That is why the House had other witnesses testify instead.

He has nothing to do with this as it was Trump that made the wrong choices.

There are a dozen or more whistleblowers coming forward. Trump's defensive wall has failed. They can't spill the beans fast enough. The swamp of his own creation is taking him down.

If they won't pay for 10,000 fake whistle liars, I'll call them cheap bastards.

This is not a case of someone who went to to the press with a bunch of spurious rumors. From all that has been described, he used an established procedure to report concerns to appropriate government personnel to be examined and handled appropriately. A proper whistleblower report, which everything indicates this was, seeks to initiate an internal investigation to determine if something improper was done. Where someone has a genuine concern, what would have been a better and more just course? It has obviously taken on a life of its own since then but that does not change the fact that the report itself seems to have been done entirely appropriately. Calls for the whistleblower to testify seem to be attempts to intimidate others within the administration who may have other concerns in the future. Given some of the threats our political figures on both sides of the aisle receive, the whistleblower should have genuine concerns for his safety given the way his actions are being unfairly characterized.

The American people have just about zero knowledge of the communications and conversations between world leaders. Wouldn’t we like to have something else to compare this phone conversation to? We could start with just the very important recent conversations with Obama and Iran. You know the nuclear deal with all the cash delivered in foreign currency ? Are Americans aware that during that time period a missing FBI agent in Iran for years was briefly discussed ? As just one example, giving nuclear capabilities to a sponsor of terrorism, sending pallets of cash in the dead of night, and holding an American hostage wasn’t at all “ troubling” or “ disturbing “ enough for anyone to take notice?

Regardless of the fact that anything Impeachable may or may not occurred , the mere fact that this conversation between Potus and the Ukraine President is the only one in recent history to become newsworthy ? No deal was made.No one was harmed. No “ election interference “ occurred , because the ballots haven’t even been created. No one was damaged .

However the mere mention of Biden, a” favor for “ us” not “ me “, provoked a Government Employee to opine on the foreign policy by the POTUS ? No one on the call filed a report , why ? Not one person thought the call was damaging , until the so called whistle blower met with Schiff. It doesn’t mean anything at all that SChiff lied about the contact ? It doesn’t mean anything at all that one of the whistle blower’s former co workers works for SChiff? And once Schiff gets a hold of it, all of a sudden all these people step forward ? Many haven’t even had any personal contact with the POTUS.

It means nothing at all I suppose that the Attorney for the whistleblower is on record for announcing a “ coup “ ? Nothing at all that the contents of a secure, secret conversation as sensitive information as there can be was not only revealed , but politicized ? Yes , POTUS released a transcript , but that was after the fact, after the fact that it was even relentlessly misstated by Dems and the media. The results were an entire narrative for the DNC scripted MSM to start their “ if this is true “ talking head frenzy.

The reason why this latest clown show by the Democrats stinks to high heaven is pretty simple. When you are attempting to undo an election, to take the votes of the people away from them, you better have substantial evidence. Not opinions on foreign policy. Maybe a Pallet of cash in the dead of night would be a good example .

And if you have that kind of evidence, you go for the throat. You get BOTH parties to agree because it is so strong, so slam dunk positive that it can’t be denied. You don’t start a Dog and Pony Show, hoping to uncover something, anything, maybe Russian Hookers were involved. Nancy Pelosi stated on “ Morning Joe “ that the Russians were behind this, WITH the Ukrainians. The Day after she announced the “ Inquiry “ . Look it up.

The Framers made Impeachment of the POTUS rare and not that easy to do. They knew that if the people that cast the votes had a sense that they voted for the wrong person, they could replace them in 4 years. They did that because in a Democracy , that is the most real and genuine solution. Not by the Opinions of the Ruling Class, or observers and reporters, but the people. The Framers didn’t want a King, and they didn’t want a Parliament .
