President Trump signed a bipartisan bill into law Monday, making animal cruelty a federal crime. The Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture Act, or PACT Act, bans abusive behavior including crushing
Crushing

This is a great move in the right direction.
I think the punishment needs to match the crime. Cushing=crushing, drowning in a garbage bag=drowning in garbage bag, chained outside in the freezing cold, yup, chain you outside in the freezing cold.

People that are cruel to animals are truly sick twisted individuals that do not deserve to walk this earth.

Couldn't agree with you more. If I believed in hell, that is where people who are cruel to animals would end up.

The measure was introduced in the House by Ted Deutch, D-Fla., and Vern Buchanan, R-Fla., and pushed through the Senate by Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., and Patrick J. Toomey, R-Pa.

Good for these guys for taking the initiative. And can you imagine if Trump had refused to sign it -- lolol.

This was an easy one for him....a gift Happy Holidays President Trump

Highly unlikely. As we've already seen in the real world, there are three things Trump has no clue about -- science, farming, and the Bible.

These actions were not already illegal except maybe archery hunting? Was another feel good law needed.
other bodily injury may also be broad. How do mouse traps fit in (although I capture them and let them loose out in the woods)?

So if it’s a federal crime. Who will police it? ICE? IRS? DEA? Who will build the case and prosecute? What are the penalties ? Just wonder about specifics because laws must be drawn and lots of other Mumbo jumbo applied all over 50+ states. Cost Lots of money! I would not hurt an animal - but most states are very aggresive with arresting those that do. Don’t see the point.

There is a special place in hell reserved for people who abuse/torture/neglect helpless animals.

One of the brightest spots in this administrations 3 years, IMO. Well done.
