When the day comes that people who think this way are relegated to street corners, I'll relax. But as long as they continue to swing serious weight in our government, with the express desire of influencing US law toward their religious ideas - well, I'm gonna continue to call them out.
To be clear, I'm fine with people holding these beliefs. It's their right to believe whatever they want, just as it is mine. But I don't think that US law should be based on ANYONE'S religion.
If ANYONE thinks that Trump being Trump is somehow a good Christian or was put into office BY God knowing that Trump goes against everything that’s in the Bible. Needs to find a new God/religion.

There is a spiritual battle today. Those that are following Satan are the rebellious. One cannot follow two masters. Either you are for God or against God.
Satan is the great deceiver. He can get people to believe that good is bad and bad is good. The end times will see an increase of this very thing.
The bible said we can judge righteous judgement. We look at the fruits. Are they good , are they rebellious. Do they destroy or build up .
If the fruit is good, the tree is good. We look at the results to see if truth prevails or does Satan deceive.
Many thought that Jesus was Satan and called him that.. He told the truth but the truth was hard to hear and they hated that truth. Jesus said to repent . They did not.
Many are lovers of pleasures than lovers of God. Those that follow the word and do it are those that have made Jesus their Savior but also their Lord.
President Trump has given back the rights of Christians to speak from the pulpit. LBJ took away that right years ago .
Those that hate Israel will not be blessed. Those that love Israel will be blessed. It is written.

I don't think that US law should be based on ANYONE'S religion.
Nor do I,and its fine to 'call out' those who specificly lobby for such laws.It is pretty clear that the country is getting more and more socially liberal however so its pointless to get too overwrought about evangelical rantings by people who don't even hold elective office.Some people feel the need to 'ride into battle' on issues where they have already won the war and on other issues time is on their side.
Younger republicans don't tend to be very socially conservative and a lot of older ones are rather 'small l' libertarian leaning these days.The religious right still hold some sway,but not to the degree some people act like they do.
Jesus overturned the tables of the money changers who were cheating the people, Jesus called people snakes and vipers.. he knew their hearts and motivations. If they did not accept the gospel he told his followers to wipe the dirt from their feet as a testament against them. Jesus is the way the truth and the life. But we as followers love righteousness as Jesus did.
Satan comes to steal , kill and destroy. President Trump is the man who is putting Americans first. The bible states that those that do not put their own first is worse than an infidel. We must respect the laws of the land , God made the borders. Those that watch HATETRUMP TV are drinking in hate. That is their choice. They are godless individuals that want power and will deceive the masses to get it.
They hated Trump from the beginning and continue in their hate. Trump is doing many good things for Americans.. something no other president did and he is hated for it because we are such a corrupt system.. this world will destroy itself. I didn’t vote for Trump because I thought he was a Christian. He was the lesser of two evils and I still feel that he was.
When you have a choice similar to choosing between a tornado or a hurricane, you’re going to end up with a disaster either way. That being said, I’m pretty happy with the Supreme Court picks, so I’ll vote for him again unless the democrats put up someone that’s not a socialist or open borders person.
Trump is entirely the fault of the democrats rigging their convention to nominate that thing. That’s what makes the whole collusion thing laughable.

On a more serious note,I don't understand the extreme paranoia by some on the left of religious people and religious leaders.The Christian right is a part of the republican base but its hardly a majority,not even close.Reading some of the posts on here you'd think the US was a Christian version of Iran. I know A LOT of conservatives,and most of them aren't religious at all.
Some on the left love to scream about right wing Christian intolerance but they are just as intolerant themselves.Both sides say some goofy things.Both sides use issues that they know are here to stay to scare and rally their base.Abortion has been legal for 50 years and the 'right to life amendment to the constitution' that we've been hearing about since Reagan ran in 1980 has never happened and never will.Even if Roe vs Wade ever got overturned abortion would remain legal in almost every state where it is legal now as a practical matter.Gay marriage is the law of the land and gays serve openly in the military.A very high percentage of children are born out of wedlock and no one cares...….cohabitating couples attend churches all over the country..strip bars exist all over the bible belt....recreational weed is legal in 11 states so far... we hardly live in a theocracy
Christians are a majority! According to Pew, 65% of Americans identify as being Christian and 35% identify as being "evangelical", depending on how that is defined. The Christian right is still a very potent political force in the US so to dismiss it as a minority not worth concern for those of us who believe religion of any sort should keep its nose out of public policy, is just not accurate.
I believe that if there wasn't opposition to the Christian political agenda that a lot of the freedoms you listed would not exist today.
The cultural battle between the left and the Christian right is very similar to the battle over guns in that the NRA does not want to give an inch as it believes once it does that, that 2A rights will slowly erode away. The left also does not want to give an inch to those with a Christian agenda for the same reason. You can call it paranoia but it is really politics 101 and all sides do it, not just in the US but everywhere. It is the struggle for political hegemony.
