The longer it takes for the House to send over the articles, the more people are paying attention.
They sure are, but not in the way you are thinking.....nearly all the dems who voted said this was about NATIONAL SECURITY.....if so and the impeachment had to happen extremely quick, why did nancy not deliver the articles as soon as possible? It was more important for them to go on Christmas break...

Think of Congress as a grand jury finding probable cause for a crime, and yes, it is illegal for a president to with hold aid appropriated by Congress. The impoundment control act was voted into law because of Nixon and his abuse of with holding funds Congress had already approved because he didn't like a program. There are narrow parameters for which a president may with hold funds but the law states that CONGRESS MUST BE NOTIFIED. Installing a toxic termite yes man to take over the payments and with hold them is not the right way to do it. It reeks of sketchy, corrupt behavior. As a side note, two OMB officials resigned because they wanted no part of the illegal move Trump made. There's the other article of impeachment. Abuse of power. Trump is not king Donald, nor has he ever respected that we have 3 co-equal branches of government. Failing to honor that is in direct violation of his oath to uphold our constitution.
Look. If these witnesses could exonerate Trump they would have been allowed to testify before Congress and in the Senate. Trump is obstructing and hiding behind fall guys yet again, only Sondland decided he did not want the same fate as Flynn, Manafort, Gates, and Stone. He told the truth to Congress. The rest need to do the same in the Senate. McConnell can plan his sham acquittal without witnesses or documents, and he may get away with it in the short term. With his approval ratings in the toilet in Kentucky? It may cost him his seat.

The Mueller investigation & report made it clear the impediment to indictment of President Trump for obstruction of justice is the Justice Department’s position that a sitting president cannot be indicted for any crime.
It also made clear that charging this President is the job of Congress.
It also made clear that an impeachment inquiry must begin immediately.
Another irony here is the complaints that the Mueller investigation took too long, & the impeachment proceedings were rushed through.

Of course Trump can't afford to allow mulvaney, Bolton, and Pompeo to tell the truth under oath. They would testify as to his guilt. Remember Pompeo lying to the camera when asked about the whistle blower report? Pretending he had never heard of it before and making some smart comment as to how he was just be presented with this and expected to have an answer?
Then we find out ~ Pompeo knew all along and was up to his neck in it.

If there isn't enough evidence for the Republicons in the Senate - then of course they should hear from witnesses with direct involvement. They heard witnesses in the Clinton impeachment - via depositions, etc.
But Trump won't allow ANY of his witnesses to testify. Why is that do you think?
