Milwaukee, on the other hand, is known for alot of violent crime, it had a riot back in 2016, alot of gangs too.
Is there something different about Madison as opposed to Milwaukee why they are so much different on crime rates?

Better police department? Less born out of wedlock that become future gang members?

Looks like the grand total over 2 days in St. Louis was 15 shot, 7 dead

Look, what is your point in bringing up St. Louis? It's well known that it's a violent city. Not many people want to be there. The fact that you compare it to Lincoln, you did that for a reason. What is your reason?

His reason is to compare Democrat-run St. Louis with Republican-run Lincoln, and use this as an example in support of his recurring thesis that Democrat-run cities are worse (more dangerous, dirtier, etc.) than Republican-run ones. If you wish to debate this premise, go right ahead.

Well, there is a reason I brought up Madison,WI in one of the my posts. Madison is as liberal and Democratic-ran as they come. It's a city with a population bordering towards 260,000. People actually want to move there. Between 2010 and 2018, Madison has a total of 56 murders. The city of Milwaukee had 141 murders in 2017 alone.

Madison and Milwaukee are both Democratic cities in the same state. Madison is markedly safer than Milwaukee.

And as for Lincoln, Nebraska, Lincoln has a Democrat for its mayor. Lincoln being a college city leans liberal. Lincoln is essentially a blue island in a sea of red. Same for Austin, Texas. Austin is as liberal as they come. It's in a red state. Austin, however, has one of the lowest violent crime rates for Texas cities. Austin has one of the lowest murder rates in the country and it's a very liberal city.

Underclass Black gang members are violent. The average Black person isn't likely to be involved with violent crime. I have a question. What's your point? What to YOU want? What to you hope to accomplish by saying "Blacks are violent. More breaking news tonight at 11"?

St. Louis itself has about the same population as Lincoln. Thus the comparison is apt. There are MANY surrounding suburban areas in St. Louis (not within St. Louis) that makes the population close to 3 million. They are not as fond of killing one another in the burbs.

If you want to visit a third world country right here in the US, take a field trip to East St. Louis (different town, but part of the metro). It makes Detroit look like a paradise.

Madison and Lincoln are basically large college towns built on agriculture and dairy industries. Milwaukee and St. Louis are major economic (albeit rust belt) centers built on immigrant labor and manufacturing. Very different types of towns.

So maybe what the OP is suggesting is that we shouldn't exploit the labor of migrants, and possibly we should abandon all forms of capitalism. After all, it was the incessant build-up of factories and industry that drew so many able-bodied black men from the south, as well as Slovaks, Latvians and Lithuanians into cities like St. Louis, Cleveland and Chicago (read The Jungle by Upton Sinclair... dark but eye opening). Now that those factories have been mostly closed, the gaping holes left in the communities are sore spots for criminal activity. The Poles and the Lithuanians were assimilated into suburban wasp culture for jobs in finance and technology, but civil rights and social opportunity have been much slower to come to communities of color.

Lincoln has about 284,000 while St. Louis has around 302,000 (down from 319,000 in 2010). Having spent alot of time in the Atlanta area, I noticed alot of Missouri license plates. I suspect many people would pick Atlanta over St. Louis.

I think a better comparison would be St. Louis vs Greensboro, North Carolina. Greensboro has about 295,000 people (probably 300,000). Both are Democratic cities. Greensboro had 37 murders in 2018. St. Louis had 187 murders in 2018. And something else. Both cities have very large Black populations (Blacks are 42% of Greensboro's population). Greensboro is markedly safer than St. Louis. Two cities, two different states, both are cities with similar populations with large Black populations, and are blue cities in somewhat conservative states. And yet, Greensboro is growing and much safer than St. Louis.
