I'm not sure about that.

Ask Jimmy Carter how it worked out for him....

Carter was a weak coward, that's why the Iranians got away with that nonsense.

This president just killed their best General over an attack on an embassy....I highly doubt Iran wants to escalate things further. There's not a Carter in office right now.

Probably not directly with us. However, the Israelis would probably be well advised to be on high alert.

Although it has not been confirmed by the Iranian regime, I hope that this is true. Suleimani is (or was) pure evil. He is the archcitect of terrorist Iranian proxy armies throughout the region, is responsible for literally hundeds of thousands of deaths from Iraq to Syria to Lebanon to Yemen. And for thousands of dead and maimed American soldiers in the Iraq war. He is PURE EVIL.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/02/w...gtype=Homepage
"American officials consider General Suleimani, the commander of the Revolutionary Guards’ elite Quds Force, responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American soldiers during the Iraq War and hostile Iranian activities throughout the Middle East."

This murder's death will be celebrated by all except the isolationists and defeatists.

Iran will do some silly escalation, but realize they're no match for the USA. THANKS TRUMP for removing another terrorist general from society. How can liberals oppose this??

Carter was a weak clown with a lame plan and he paid for it. He took 5? states against Reagan.

I guess I should turn on CNN and MSNBC to see what the DNC's talking points are going to be on this.

I imagine Israel and the U.S. are coordinating any responses to Islamic terrorist attacks on Israel, just as was done with the scud missiles and the first Gulf War. The terrorists would like nothing more than to force Israel's hand, as it plays right into their anti-Israeli propaganda machine, and the U.S. would want to de-escalate it.

i could see that, but I don't think Iran will do anything themselves, they'll use their terrorist proxies....but they were doing those things anyway.

Given the harsh repercussions to the embassy attack, Iran likely thinks hard before they do anything other than denounce the strike.
