Couldn't be because America first and Trump and his followers made it clear they were going to get us out of all entanglements.......I guess another promise broken, eh?

Listen to them now beating the drums of war. Thousands more troops to SAUDI ARABIA. Talk of PRE-EMPTIVE strikes around the world.

Seriously, do you know what that means? Bush doctrine....exactly what got us into this all, is now back in Spades. Iran seems to control Iraq to some extent now.....and we are simply an armed camp.

Remind me again why we are there? Why even have an embassy in a wrecked place with no actual government and that is controlled largely by Iran and Hesbollah and other Radical Islamists? Is it for the Oil?

Another failure and stunning reversal of the Trump admin. Should have kept the nuke deal with Iran and most would be good now. Shouldn't have bent to the NK dictator who is just using the time (Iran also now) to finish their nukes and missiles.

I'd have more respect for Trump if he surrendered and simply pulled 100% of US troops out of Iraq. That would be consistent if he really thought it was a "bad war".

On think I think most here can agree on...when Humpty Dumpty is broken into 10,000 pieces he ain't gonna be put back together by drone strikes.

Time to admit defeat. I would say "like Vietnam" but this is so much worse. We don't need the ME for anything...Trump and Kushner may for Real Estate deals, but we don't.

This situation reminds me of Lebanon....and, say what you will, Reagan had enough brains to cut and run after the Marine Barracks bombing. You simply cannot "win" on their home turf against people who have nothing left to lose...AND, who enjoy dying. That is, unless we enjoy dying.

I don't think we do.

I don't see why killing an Islamic terrorist is bad news. Thank you, Mr. Trump.

So when they attack us, it's okay to do nothing.... You must not understand America very well... Look at these sad liberals that support terrorists.... Thank you President Trump!

No one here has the foggiest idea of who he was, nor would it matter if they did. We are just sent the bill and told it was necessary.

The nonsense at the embassy required a response, and if the news is true, it's a solid response.

I can't think of anytime I would ever rep any of your posts but I will rep you on this one craig.

We have no friends in the region but the Kurds. Our invasion opened the door for Iran and Shias in Iraq. Nobody is really an ally there.

Right you are. Typical defeatist, pacifist, isolationist thinking. Someone punches, you better punch back harder. That, or draw a red line.

The Democrats and the media will likely do their best to denigrate and smear this military success.

I do not disagree. One can't not respond though. They win if you don't.
