So here's what's going on:

Powerful people with diverse special interests are lining up against Bernie Sanders. A group called Democratic Majority for Israel -- a pro-Israeli Democratic super PAC -- began running hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth of attack ads in Iowa, leading up to last night's caucuses. Simultaneously, a pro-Biden super PAC ran one million dollars' worth of anti-Bernie ads.

On Tuesday, Third Way, a centrist think tank, sent an email to several hundred of its supporters in Iowa, encouraging them to highlight positions taken by Mr. Sanders that the group argues “will repel swing voters in battleground states.” The ads follow a weekend in which Mr. Sanders faced an onslaught of attacks from Democratic rivals.

Pete Buttigieg sent a fund-raising email warning his supporters that “Bernie Sanders could be the nominee of our party,” followed by another email casting doubt on his ability to defeat Donald Trump. Mike Bloomberg, who is skipping the early states to focus on Super Tuesday and beyond, also took a jab at Mr. Sanders’s political beliefs, saying that he was the only Jewish candidate in the race who “doesn’t want to turn America into a kibbutz.”

And now, it's revealed that behind the cell phone app that assisted in delaying Iowa’s voting results is a man named Seth Klarman, a Buttigieg backer who has dumped money into pro-settler Israeli lobby groups. The delay in the vote reporting caused by the app denied Bernie the opportunity to make a victory speech, though he is the presumptive winner of the Iowa contest. Strikingly, not one exit poll indicated that Pete Buttigieg would have won, though he took to Twitter, announcing his victory.

Curious that a candidate with no real chance of winning announced himself the winner, though nobody knew who the winner was, after riding a wave of dark money spent attacking Bernie.

As an aside, in every case, the message from the anti-Bernie attack ads is that he can't beat Trump in an election. It's as if Bernie's opponents are seizing on Democratic voters' fear of another Trump presidency. And while playing on fear may normally be an effective tactic, the reality is that Bernie stands the BEST chance of beating Trump. According to Mark Mellman, President of the Democratic Majority for Israel, “For many months people were saying [Bernie] really didn’t have much of a chance, but you have to look at the data now and say he does have a realistic chance of winning Iowa and potentially the nomination,” he said.

The nomination.

Bernie Sanders could win the nomination.

A Jewish socialist who vociferously opposes the billionaire class could win the nomination to be the Democratic Presidential nominee.

As for the cell phone app that caused last night's meltdown in Iowa, "The bizarre scenario was made possible by a mysterious voting app whose origins had been kept secret by Democratic National Committee officials. For hours, it was unclear who created the failed technology, or how it wound up in the hands of Iowa party officials." In other words, pro-Buttigieg millionaires found a way to shoehorn a technology in to the vote-counting process that would benefit him politically. In fact, journalist Lee Fang reported that a previously unknown tech outfit called Shadow Inc. had contracted with the Iowa Democratic Party to create the failed technology. The firm was comprised of former staffers for Obama, Clinton and the tech industry, and had been paid for services by the Buttigieg campaign.

So the Democrat establishment is worried. Bernie has been surging in polls, and he commands a uniquely devoted base of supporters. Despite facing opposition in Iowa, the Sanders campaign said Wednesday that they had raised $1.3 million since they began fund-raising off the negative ads. In other words, even with a cache of business-as-usual Democrats against him, Bernie out-fund-raises the competition; an especially interesting event, given that so many of his supporters make contributions of just a few dollars.

The billionaires are rigging the system, but Bernie's still winning.

You only see stuff like this once in a lifetime.

"Powerful people with diverse special interests are lining up against Bernie Sanders." No kidding. I figured out a long time ago that the centrist wing of the Dem Party functions by advocating for incremental change for the poor and middle class, while not rocking the boat for the elite 1%. Some of the same knives will be out for Warren too if she gains traction.

Bernie lost Iowa.

Quote:
Pete Buttigieg led with a current 26.9% of the state's Democratic support, followed by Bernie Sanders with 25.1%.

Bernie, even though ethnically jewish, is an anti-Semite based on the NUMEROUS anti-semites surrounding him and endorsing him. bernie is a bad man whose policies and philosophies are very dangerous for American and israeli jews.

But I've heard repeatedly that Sanders isn't good for blacks or women....and is an old white male.

Some of the far left should take notice that embracing those identity attacks might not be as empowering as one may think.

Especially hilarious that we are not to believe Warren who can actually remember where and when it happened.

I agree that Bernie Sanders is practically anti-Israel and American Jews should not support him.

Bernie is the most anti-Jewish candidate left. There’s no comparison. I suspect that’s why he’s so attractive to so many Dems.

Agree. Anti-semites seem to flock to him like moths to a flame.
