Congressional Republicans behaved like adults. But saying that Reoublicans didnt investigate isnt an excuse for Democrats who hold Congress now to not investigate, especially given the similarities between this and the Trump impeachment claims. And especially given the itch for Democrats to investigate Trumps for alleged wrongdoings long before he came into office (that Republicans didnt investigate Trump for those offenses when they held power certainly didnt stop Dems from investigating once they took power in that case). I bring up these points to call out Dem hypocrisy mainly. I'm not really interested in an investigation, though I do push back on claims that the allegations have been proven false " or otherwise discredited. But I'm also not in favor of the impeachment vote based in the evidence. And Trump, as the president, is in charge of US foreign policy, so if he wanted to look into what he saw as possible corruption, that is the US foreign policy. That career diplomats dont like that doesnt change a thing.
You are telling us that Democrats are somehow at fault for not investigating Joe Biden going to Ukraine and doing the job that everyone involved agrees he was sent there to do by the State Department. Your whole argument is asinine.
As I have pointed out a number of times, it was well covered in international media at the time that it was official US policy to push to remove Shokin and that policy had been formed as part of an international, collaborative anti-corruption effort with the EU, IMF, and World Bank, all of whom wanted Shokin ousted because he was corrupt and none of whom knew (much less cared) about Hunter Biden's measly job. Heck, Republican Senators were pushing for Shokin's removal. Is it your claim that the Republican Senators were "in" on some wild far-reaching secret international conspiracy to help keep Hunter Biden employed?
Like I said, the whole premise that Biden was furthering his personal interests in Ukraine is absurd and posting empty lies about Joe Biden will not vindicate Trump. It will, however, continue to undermine your credibility.
I know that's the leftist line, but what's it based on? Last I checked, investigation happy Dems never called for an independent congressional inquiry into the matter. No, they just take the previous administration's word and Ukraine's word, though the fired prosecutor blames Biden for his firing and has launched a lawsuit in his country.
Why should they have an independent inquiry, there wasn't any crime. Besides, the republicans controlled all 3 branches and the DOJ in 2017 & 2018, why didn't they take some action. The OP is just ranting leaving out pertinent facts, he doesn't want to have a real debate just venting.

I don't really know much about the Prosecutor General that replaced Shokin and it really doesn't matter. I commented on the question asked in your thread title. Nothing changed in the Burisma investigation after Shokin was removed.

So Shokin wasn't replaced with someone that was more aggressive at rooting out corruption, more focused on investigating Burisma (thanks for the correction on spelling) or prosecuting those involved. Seems as if Joe wasn't telling the truth then about why he blackmailed Ukraine into removing the prosecutor.

Your obvious editorializing aside - you reckon this is the very first time that the US government has forced a foreign official out only to end up with someone just as bad or worse in their place?
Also, can you show some evidence that the Obama administration, including Joe, had any say-so in who replaced Shokin?

In a few years when the Bidens are still loving their normal lives, their (Trumpists) vengeance will turn to disappointment, and disappointment will turn to disillusionment once they realize they’ve been conned.
