The two stock markets that
should be doing
worse - the two Chinese ones, where the virus is the worst and where it first appeared - are actually doing
better than the US market!
This tells you there is/was
something else wrong with the US markets, and that the virus was merely a catalyst to expose those other problems.
And that "something else" is that the US stock market has been in a bubble for at least two years. The virus is nothing more than the pin that popped the bubble. If the virus had not come along, it would still have popped, sooner or later.
