I think the important thing to remember is that Ed Conway is merely an opionated journalist, who tbh can't be that left wing given he has written for the Daily Mail and Telegraph as opposed to left leaning papers such as the Guardian.
The full article is also subscription, and I really don't want to pay to read Conway's pathetic scribblings on the subject.
As for Cornovirus, it may kill the very elderly and infirm, but no more so than flu, and perhaps when Conway himself is old someone can suggest the same solution for him.

Someone made a very good point as to why the death rate is higher in China (besides poor nutrition, high stress, poor living conditions) - half the men smoke! Corona is hard on smokers since it targets the respiratory system.
I never thought of that. Very good point. Someone should quickly study the issue and point that out. Franklyl if you are in an advanced culture now, 56 years after the Surgeon General report (came out early January 1964) you are a borderline moron.

When a vaccine is available it will likely be mandatory to show you have been vaccinated to go on a cruise.
As a vessel owner who hires crew I know I would specifically look for crew that already had CV.
Good question is once you get it will you then build up an immunity much like the mumps or measles ?
Or does it evolve like the flu and come out with a new strain every year ?
