Italy also has a much larger amount of smokers than the US. They also have a higher % of elderly compared to South Korea where the death rates are lower.

More smokers + more elderly = a higher death rate.

I think this has been here for sometime. This is why almost everyone they test has it and cases are exploding.

Over the first weeks of January myself and everyone in my workplace got hit with something that had the exact symptoms of this virus. Meaning no sore throat or stuffy nose. Just fever, cough, and chest congestion. I haven't had a fever on anything since 2014.

We work on a public transport line that goes to the airport.

I suspect this virus came to the USA over the Christmas holiday when people were traveling.

I suspect that this dog and pony show you see now is simply staged so people do not panic.

I think China is the bad guy here..probably not telling anyone until it was much too late.

How would you like CV19 hitting Bernie or Biden 30 days before the election ?

Guess you'd scream you'd want to postpone the election, right.

I agree.

I do believe the Govt is trying to limit the effects, exposure and stop the spread. It's like trying to stop a hurricane though.

Plus our Govt never does anything efficiently. Does not matter what party is in office. Our Govt is so huge and bloated it takes time for them to do anything.

A good example is the $$ bill they just passed through Congress to fight CV. It was loaded with pork and pet projects that were not needed.

The report I heard said that 50-70% of Chinese men smoke vs 2-3% of Chinese women. Crazy disparity. They were trying to understand why so many more men than women died from the virus in China.

In general men smoke more than women but the disparity is much lower.

May explain why they don't seem to really be doing anything... they know it is pointless already and are just hoping for the best.

I suppose the good news is that everyone survived it in the workplace.. but the bad news is that it is up for debate as to whether you can be infected a second time.
