14 day shut down of what services? Which people in the service industry should forgo their income for two weeks and how do we even know that two weeks would be enough? Which small businesses should go out of business? How many businesses will go out of business due to the recommendation that everyone stay home? And how will the virus be contained when everyone is at their local grocery store anyway, contaminating it while trying to hoard supplies so that they can quarantine? We are not being very logical or thinking about the long term big picture.
Dr Fauci believes its the best idea. He knows a lot more about this subject than you or I. Regardless we are going to have a giant economic mess. The likes we may never have had to deal with before.
I don’t have anything to add other than just wanted to say thank you for being objective towards the other side! And I’m not just saying that because you’re saying this about a democrat. I mean that it’s refreshing to see someone not bashing or praising a politician just because of which team they’re on. We all could be a little more objective, myself included, so thanks for showing that!
Right but Italy and Germany are not THAT different. They're quite similar actually. And Italy and Iran are vastly different, but Italy's COVID-19 experience is a lot more like Iran than Germany.
The nation with the highest rate of home ownership on planet Earth is Ireland, followed closely by the USA. So if that's a thing, then the USA and Ireland should see the lightest impact.
I think the virus has mutated and different versions are hitting different places.
I think so too, the virus had been present in northern Italy for weeks before the first case was officially recognized.
The longer such an organism is in a region, the more likely it is to mutate.
I hope not, because many of the those infected here in Portugal got it from Italians.
Let's also remember CDC Pandemic genius Timothy Cummingham. He was trying to tell people what he found out. He was freaking out. He worked on the Ebola and Zika virus outbreaks. He was found in a river suicided 2 weeks after he tried to tell Trump about Wuhan Virus.
And let me guess - the Clintons are somehow involved?
Nunes was on Fox today and said, if you and your family are healthy you help the economy by going out to eat or to a pub.

Sure he did....just like someone called the governor from the WH and yelled at him....don't know who that person from the WH was/is, but dammit, he called and yelled at me.

The current world wide mortality rate is 3.8% compared to .01% for the seasonal flu. This is a world wide health crisis and some folks are making political hay out of it
The problem I have with these numbers, is that you are taking a known end number (for the flu, after how many months) and and comparing it to this virus.
The only way you could have a real comparison, is if you take the same time frame and compare them...at that point....
These are all false numbers below, so please don't tell me I'm wrong about the numbers...they are false.......
Month 1:
Flu =s 10 deaths and 2500 infected
CV19 =s 8 deaths and 2000 infected.
Month 2:
Flu =s 15 deaths and 4000 infected
CV19 =s 12 deaths and 6000 infected
Month 3:
Flu =s 25 dead and 8000 infected
CV19 =s 20 dead and 10000 infected
