I'll believe it when I see it. Homeless aren't getting it even though they are Americans. How about students, unemployed, home caregivers, part timers who made under the tax threshold? Those are the lowest on the pole. How does it work that they would even have access to it?
It would be the first time money ever went to the lowest on the totem pole. Obama's stimulus plan just helped the insurance companies, banks, and big pharma.
Student loans, kids, daycare, mortgage. Easy to make 100k in this world and not have tons of cash. I have 5k each month going out the door before I even start to worry about utilities, food, and vehicles. Student loans and daycare are a killer!
I used to pay 4500 per month on daycare for 2 kids. Thank god those days are over! I agree it’s easy to make 100k and not have tons of cash. Heck, it’s easy to make 300k and not have lots of cash. That said, 1k is not really going to help either case. 10k would give a months relief. That’s why I think the 1k would be better off going to the people that could pay rent with it.

Reduce gov't spending to pay for it. "The average federal worker makes $128,000", has a cadillac healthcare plan and a cushy pension. They wont miss the 2 cents...trust me.

Ah, no they don't. But please provide the article you got your info from....thanks.
scroll down to the bottom of the 6th paragraph...$125,000 comp package, not including pension, and this was as of 2018, so I added $3,000 for the past 1.5 years...
AND, this article is about the Fed employees arguing that they are underpaid by 31%!
Here's an older source from 2016, and this one says their bene package ALONE is worth $36,850! $123,000 total comp pkg.
I wish that they would give these refunds to all homeless Houston drug addict to show you how ridiculous it sounds to not disburse the $1,000 to taxpayers like me. Those homeless are no less worthy of receiving the refund than those who earned below the set amount. I worked a very stressful job for over 2 years with a business on the side to be in a fairly comfortable position. My earnings should not be considered “less than†everyone else’s simply because I budgeted and planned wisely. I EARNED the $ and would like to use that $ (if I get it) to care for my just graduated live-in nephew and support local neighborhood restaurants who are undergoing rough times. Sen Cornyn’s office rep told me that the amounts have not been finalized so there might be hope yet.
It's not a refund, it's a distribution. It should be the same amount provided to every adult citizen. Anything else is a bs lie.

When they use this data, do they include people in congress and the senate? Just curious if they do. I mean there are a lot of Federal employees who make a good income. The ones really making out like bandits are the government contractors.
Maybe it is different for other fields, but I used to want to get a job with the architect of the capitol when I first started in HVAC. After being in the field for some years I now get paid more in the private sector than most of the facilities staff at the architect of the capitol. I don't know too many federal employees though and I'm in the DC area.
In all seriousness, what do you consider a Cadillac health plan? You may consider my private sector union health plan a Cadillac plan as well.
