Conservatives are being compassionate, helping others, saving lives, saving homes, saving families, saving employers, stimulating the economy during a crisis...what is your objection to this?
Conservatives must set aside their convictions to help fellow Americans in need.
As President Trump said earlier today, We must set aside partisan politics to beat this enemy.
I'm glad that you boarded the Keynesian Train, brother.
Heard an economist today say one trillion dollars won't do it. We need at least FOUR trillion dollars. And if that sounds atrocious, think of the cost of a depression that will make 1929 pale in comparison. And remember, some of the "horrible" socialist programs like social security began during that depression.
When your house is on fire, you don't quibble over the cost of water to put it out.
LOL...I saw $1.5T and $2.0T, they have to keep upping the estimate to get a headline.

Social Security IS Horrible- a huge theft of income to be redistributed to others who contribute less.

Repub politicians are opportunists who are attempting to buy voter loyalty with their bribes.

Well that's just dandy comparing it to Obama. My comment was directly related to YOUR comparison of the US to Europe. Remember?

trump is being conservative... yes he is opening up needed monies, but being smart about it
The page I referenced is US spending relative to GDP which is a measure of prudence, and Trumpo has taken us further into that abyss than what he inherited from Obama.
Maybe if you post something like, oh, spending per GDP for European countries maybe you could actually... oh.... frame it with reference to your own damn country.

Opinion: Well done...............truly non partisan when all Americans receive a handout in the mailbox.
President Trump is making sure China is finally repaying Americans rather than politicians after years of being ripped off...........
How does this work? Do people not working, social security, disabled 100% veterans, etc or people who don’t even have a job, do they get this too? They shouldn’t as they didn’t lose money in first place. I’m perplexed how sending $$$ to everyone will benefit society
Lets not forget that the Leftists would currently rather have the Senate bogged down with Impeachment witnesses instead of focusing on a national crisis
Distribution of wealth seems to be Trumps #1 priority.
I have been wondering how his base will spin or interpret this whole thing. Think about these facts:
-The left was correct that the Virus is not a hoax, reporting of it has been real, it will not disapear like a miracle.
-Trump has basically been forced to come around (thank God) and take the recommendations of the medical/science community
-The response to the crisis has been very progressive:
--Checks to all are expected (Is Trump buying votes?)
--Bailouts of the economy are expected (is this time better than when Obama did it?)
--GOP is being forced to consider American Citizens, instead of just business interest
--ALL of these actions acknowledge that trickle-down solutions don't work
When this is all over, will the GOP go back to taxing the working class and giving it to business, or do we think this is a fundamental shift, where the right finally acknowledges (permenantly) that progressive ideas work better (not flawlessly) than constantly redistributing wealth from the middle class to the elite?
TDS-Label all you want. Look at what is happening. Trump's response is EVERYTHING HE HAS RAILED AGAINST for the past 3-4 years, goes against everything he was saying just a week ago about the virus, and is a carbon copy with enhancements of Obama's successful response to the GWB-Recession.
