Another, worth repeating.

Like the Chinese bullet train, this virus, originating in a Wet Market in Wuhan, China sped toward the world quickly, very quickly.

STATE DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCEMENT Travel ban in place Feb 2. Edit (0857 EDT, 03.20.20) JANUARY 31 IS ACTUAL DATE THAT PRESIDENT TRUMP ACTUALLY ANNOUNCED THE FIRST RESTRICTIONS. As did India coincidentally. End Edit. We have a cumbersome government structure.

Jan. 21:

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirms the first coronavirus case in the United States.
CCP flagship newspaper People’s Daily mentions the coronavirus epidemic and Xi's actions to fight it for the first time.
China's top political commission in charge of law and order warns that “anyone who deliberately delays and hides the reporting of [virus] cases out of his or her own self-interest will be nailed on the pillar of shame for eternity."
Jan. 23: Wuhan and three other cities are put on lockdown. Right around this time, approximately 5 million people leave the city without being screened for the illness.

Jan. 24–30: China celebrates the Lunar New Year holiday. Hundreds of millions of people are in transit around the country as they visit relatives.

Jan. 24: China extends the lockdown to cover 36 million people and starts to rapidly build a new hospital in Wuhan. From this point, very strict measures continue to be implemented around the country for the rest of the epidemic.

Fragments of it may have originated in a wet market.

Interesting that it was not a Rasmussen poll.

When the media's reaction is to call Trump racist for banning travel from China and calling it The Chinese virus.....

When they're giddy about the stock market dropping in response to the virus......

You know they're still trying to politicize the virus.

But it won't work.

People are smart enough to know that the virus's effect on the economy and the stock market isn't Trump's fault.

Excellent perspective, Bob. Clear, concise, pointed.

Re: the media. It is the only way they know to react. There is no reportage, only politically biased opinion, often held to gather by the thinnest of fact gathering.

Then top that off with the democrats leading candidate, Sleepy Joe Biden, who's family got a billion plus loan from Communist China that no one else could get !!! Who will be the best to secure our interest in future dealings with China ? Trump wins that contest without question !!!

Agree. I pointed out in another thread how Democrats criticized his early ban of Chinese flights, with one Democrat (someone from California, I think) actually introducing a "no travel ban ban" to keep Trump from disallowing inbound flights from infected countries. IOW, she, like some many leftists, felt it more important to warmly welcome in foreigners from infected countries than to protect American lives.

Thank G-d we have Trump at the helm. If it had been Biden (who called out Trump as being xenophobic the very day Trump shut off the flights from China), he would have waved in planeload after planeload of infected Chinese people. Wouldn't want to hurt Asians feelings, after all!

Except remember what the architect of Obamacare said? That he got it through thanks to the idiocy of the American voter? I know many people who blame Trump, and it's largely because they watch biased news that refuses to report the good decisions Trump makes. I was talking to a Democrat yesterday, and she was railing against Trump, and when I said he deserves credit for banning the planes from China as early as January 31, she was shocked. She had no idea, and that the news never reported it. When I asked her what news she watches, she said CNN and MSNBC.

Many Progressives, including many here, just repeat the Far Left BIAS they hear on CNN, NBC, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, PBS, NYT, Washpo and the others. It's easy. No thought, just parroting, and they then think they sound "smart".
