And it doesn't matter what administration. Trump gives them stories continually because he continually lies and speaks nonsense. It is a big deal when a president does that. Any news source that doesn't cover that is negligent. If Trump was careful with his words, honest and competent, the press would not be such an "enemy". Trump has himself to blame
So how do you explain Fox News? Wouldn’t they be screaming lies to you as well? Since we are pumping media into one basket.

What's the possibility that the media is trying to destroy the economy again?

No, the media is trying to HELP the economy.

Problem is, the mainstream media thinks that adding more and more liberalism (govt intrusion and control), is what will help it. Which is why they keep trying to destroy Trump 24/7/365 - they think that's their most important task, since he opposes their liberalism.

But in fact liberalism will hold the economy back, and even destroy it. No matter how many times the (liberal) media sees the economy held back as the country swings further left, they continue to believe it's not so. Just a little MORE liberalism will finally turn the trick.

No, the media is not trying to destroy the economy, any more than lemmings are trying to drown themselves. But both have the wrong idea of how to make things better.

Ok, let's rephrase, why isn't Fox News SCREAMING to have corporations close their doors? It's all about saving lives right?

I would argue that Trump, the Repubs, and the Dems just spent a few trillion dollars that they probably didn't need to spend all because the media over-hyped this. Everyone who signed those relief bills into effect are practicing a form of socialism.
I'm just trying to understand why the media played it the way they did. Was it intentional or just sensationalism?

Possibly, but it hasn't to date, and if we can continue to move away from the fear of all this, perhaps there's a chance to pull out of it.

Covid is terrible, AND, not OR, I fully distrust the US media overall.

The latter part of the above can never be repaired.

Jason Blair was representative of the media. Fraud at Times started long ago. They cooked the Kitty Genovese story 50 years ago.

Uhhh no. Parts were in error but that was accurately reported by the Times. The police records were simply incorrect.

The Times did a postmortem 40 years later...

https://www.nytimes.com/2004/02/08/n...ars-later.html

And to a large degree the Times defended the conclusions.

Note also that, contrary to the youtube, How to quickly call the police was well known in that time. You simply dialed zero and asked for the police. You would be immediately connected.

You do realize you're undercutting your fellow partisans' arguments about the intention behind the covid coverage by cheerleading a depression?

You know, lots of people need jobs to get by. Their jobs also make them feel needed and wanted. They don't like it when others are happy they lost their job.

Kind of my point, it has seemed that the majority of news articles I've seen on this and many other world-ending political hoopla (Obama's a muslim, Trump peed on Russian prostitutes) it comes down to the media is just not media anymore. All of them seem to have an agenda, and this particular agenda is taking down Trump even if it crashes the world's economy.

You think the media in every country around the world had this effect on their country's closings?
