Where is Limbaugh now? I tuned into his show a little while back and there was this English cat on that sounded like the Geico gecko. Like him or hate him (I'm not a fan) but when Rush is gone no one will be able to replace him. Certainly not the Geico gecko. Oh yeah, Mark Steyn is the guys name.
This country has surprised me at how they excused all of Limbaugh’s hatred and badmouthing. When they voted Trump in office that was the beginning of the hate fueling all of this dissent in the country. The Republicans are all afraid to go against Trump. When they disagree they are like outcasts in the party. Trump is such a grandstanding narcissist. People still can’t see that Trump wants military parades and tributes to himself as the great leader. Similar to the parades in China and Russia. Just remember people it’s all about Trump. Not YOU.

Tom - you've made your political leanings loud and clear - but again I ask ALL of you - why can't you find a decent moderate / conservative democrat to run that many people would vote for? Why do even the most conservative Democrats we see pandering to the left? You must have a Democrat with Kennedyesque ideals you can run.
I know of only 1 Republican that listens to Rush and view him as they do your left wing commentators - too far removed from what the actual people want. We voted Trump - not because we listened to Rush but we wanted a change. We liked that he didn't cow tow to all these extremists groups. I know that that is hard for many of you to wrap your minds around but it's true - I stopped drinking the kool aid yrs ago and think for myself - I suggest everyone do the same.

Because the activist portion of the Democratic Party is young and very leftist.
I've been trying to figure out the sheer nihilism of the younger left, and I think a big part of it is probably the Iraq and Afghanistan fiascos they grew up during. They've had the same effect of creating vast cynicism against America, and police killings of unarmed black men are viewed in the same light. It doesn't matter the facts of any individual shooting case, they all point to White Supremacy and anyone who argues otherwise is in denial. There's no reasoning with people.
I always expect that with old died in the wool racists like there are on the right...I've had family members like that for decades, many of whom have bought into the Limbaugh delivered BS that their prosperity is threatened by black people on welfare, not by elites shipping their jobs and standard of living overseas.
But anytime you try to shift the direction of discussion with people on the left towards economic issues, they cannot stop themselves from pivoting to racism, sexism, LGBT, etc. This social/identity politics **** IS their religion. Hence, as played out as it may seem, the Social Justice Warrior cliche is accurate for many.
No, I'm saying I disagree with him but listen. He's entertaining, and I'm interested to hear what he has to say.
(And actually, I do like to laugh at the knuckleheads who call in, who he is unfailingly respectful to, although he often has to reword their rants into something that makes sense. "So if I'm hearing you correctly, you're saying" . . . and then he says something that makes sense where what they said was completely incoherent, and they say yeah yeah that's what I was saying)
I know that's unusual on this forum for people to be open to listening to smart people who disagree with them, but it is what it is.
I don't hate him. I realize he has caused enormous destruction. By trying to be a great patriot. Gone terribly awry.
And I don't care - at all - if you "buy it". Because I guess you yourself wouldn't purposely listen to someone you disagree with. *shrug*
I do it all the time on Fox. Because in spite of what you lefties say, they present both sides.
I worked as a driver years ago, and I was escorting a young black man around, and he asked if we could turn on Rush. I was like seriously? I didn't like him (Rush) much. This gentleman said that if people stopped and actually listened to what he was saying, that he made a lot of sense. So it was a white and black dude driving around listening to Rush. LOl. I'll never forget that.
I never did give Rush much of a shot, but the important thing is this young man thought for himself and wasn't pushed by identity politics into a corner.
