He's right, if you looka the article one reason they give is operating a pallet jack. This assumes we can't have automated pallet jack which is something already being done. This isn't going to happen overnight but within a decade automated driving will have made significant inroads and within 20 or 30 years most vehicles including trucks will be autonomous.
An automated truck should be VERY easy to loot, all they need to do is stand in front of it to make it stop, and then everything inside is theirs.
City: Minneapolis, MN - A friend of mine is a long haul trucker who works for a company based in southern California and mentioned to me that they suspended deliveries to the area temporarily because of the recent riots.
I'm not sure why you would ask me to name a city and trucking companies but large companies such as Swift, Marten, JB Hunt, and their decisions to not put their drivers, equipment and the goods in jeopardy would have made sense.
Like others have mentioned, independent truckers can make their own decisions on what cities they want to deliver to..
During the riots, sure, but those ended weeks ago. Why pretend its still going on.
I was asking because people obviously think there are cities in US with no law enforcement.

Why should they hate themselves. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they are doing this because schools have been out for months, and they think its exciting.

Well, I know our community colleges stopped offering truck driving training in 2016 and self drive trucks was the reason, they said they would no longer encourage people to go thru all the required training if the jobs were not going to be around much longer.
Im pretty sure they still do not offer truck driver training anymore, (but I would have to check to be sure), it used to be a popular school to get your CDL years ago

Most of the larger trucking companies now provide their own training.

If anything deserves the roll eyes smiley it's your post. A human could certainly make the decision to run over the people blocking their lane of travel. A bot could certainly be programmed to do the same thing. Is this what you are proposing?

And if the drivers are afraid to do their jobs, they should look into another professions. They have not required police escorts in the past, but for whatever reason they feel they will need them in the future.[/quote]
Quite obvious you have never driven a truck..........
