Congratulations. Worst posting of the week, although it's only Monday and you could be eclipsed.

Truck drivers drive trucks. They shouldn't have to look for new jobs because you, Mr. Liberal, want to sit back and defund the police. Truck drivers keep the economy going, they are a backbone of the entire system. Please...… get a grip.

They should probably stay away from jobs that require lot of public speaking.
The next time a truck driver has to run over a crowd of people because they are trying to get into his truck, you shouldn't say a word. This is what you are asking for.

I drove a Truck for 30 years. In NYC, Boston, Buffalo, Charlotte, Winston and Greensboro. Never had a problem. Followed Co. regulation's, kept truck locked, kept the keys in my pockets.

The issue's in trucking today is rates. They are too low. If the rates for those run's go up there will be no problem.

Because truckers aren't stupid enough to risk their lives over it, every necessity of life is about to get stupidly expensive if you happen to live in:
  • Seattle
  • Minneapolis
  • New York City
  • Los Angeles

What other cities have elected to disband or defund their police?

If you really want to hear about Trucking issues, listen to Road Dog Trucking news on Sirius between 2-4pm eastern.

The rest of this is fake news.

There are bad areas. Going to them at the best of times is something a trucker does at great risk to his or her life. But these are not the best of times. We are experiencing non-stop riots.

I expect that a lot of truckers remember Reginald Denny. There's already been a couple of similar cases and this time the press is going to report you as the bad guy if you try like hell to get out of a bad situation. Truckers don't get paid enough to incur that kind of risk. At least 70% are saying "hell no" right now. The shrinking minority of them willing to deliver areas where riots are active will start demanding a lot more pay to do it. This will cause the price of everything to skyrocket.

Action meets consequences.

It's not only truck drivers who are afraid of the inner city. I had a friend's husband who worked for Verizon. He'd been shot at a couple of times climbing a pole to check out the connections. He was never happier when they switched him to another crew. Did it happen every day - no - but 1st time puts the fear of God in you.

There is a shortage of truckers now-no one is really "stepping in". Particularly the useless, pathetic criminals and their supporters that whine "defund the police". These cities and their residents can pay the price for their foolish decisions. Alternatively-truckers can be provided with armed escorts, and deliveries to these occupied zones can pay a higher price to cover the costs, than those cities in free America. Any city that allows mobs of violent thugs to take over highways, block traffic and assault drivers has already fallen-if they are "starved out"-blame the criminals and those in public office that enable them.

No one is telling the drivers anything, the drivers are telling their employers that they choose where they deliver and where they will not deliver. If you own a trucking company and want to keep employees who won't do their jobs, then so be it.

Its their choice. If they are afraid to drive a truck in America, they they should look for other alternatives. There are enough people who will get the job done.

What's up with the personal BS? Show me a post where I have said I want to defend anything. Do that, or admit you are here only to stir thins up with personal nonsense.

The truck drivers can decide to do whatever the heck they want. If they worked for me and refused to do their jobs due to political BS, I'd tell them to get the heck out.

Sorry if you are having a hard time with this, but THAT IS THEIR COMPLAINT. That's what this whole thread is about. They are saying they wont deliver to those imaginary cities which do not have LE (yes, such places do not exist) because they are afraid to go there.

The shortage of truckers has a lot to do with the career being considered close to being obsolete, (due to the rise of self drive trucks). Last time I checked, 'truck driver' (as a career choice), was labelled as the top career that will be obsolete within our lifetimes.
