Just use a paper towel when you touch the handles. Most rest rooms have the trash by the door. Hold the door open with your foot as you toss the paper towel.
If they have those silly blowers, I use a kleenex. One is always in my pocket.
I have had a bottle of hand sanitizer in my purse or pocket and another in the cup holder of the car, for years. Been wiping down shopping cart handles and basket for as long as we could buy hand sanitizer. You don't know what's been in that cart. Baby slobber, dogs, etc.
Have you seen the meme of the cross contaminations generated by a woman using her cell phone? And she thinks she is being careful. It is really funny.
