Wow this story is blowing up everywhere: news media, online websites, social media...

Biden’s campaign should do a simple ad featuring the audio recording of Trump saying he purposely downplayed it, and juxtapose that audio clip with Trump’s famous “their new hoax” from Feb 28. No other words needed. Blast it in all the outlets. Clean, simple, effective.

What story?

How is this supposed to be news? How did anyone not know this already?

It's ridiculous to pretend there's anything wrong with what Trump did. The lying just never stops.

So Trump is on record/tape 18 times but he's not the only one. There are others -- including Kushner.

This is not going to end well. This will take all control of messaging from The White House out of the hands of The White House.

Who could ever have imagined that Woodward could right such a book......says NOBODY EVER.....lol.

Someone at The White House -- a whole bunch of people at The White House --- just aren't competent.

They did this to themselves.

Your attempts at being a right wing media screaming talking head are as much a failure as Trump's response to the virus.

Also, Woodward knew how to leverage Trump’s vanity. If it’s a book about him, Trump is not going to say no.

The same people attacking Trump for wanting to "downplay" the virus in February were literally all downplaying the virus in February.

De Blasio, Pelosi, media. All of them.

They encouraged Americans to attend Chinese new year parties so as not to be seen as racist.

Incredible.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter why people disapprove.

It just shows a general feeling.

AND -- you might disapprove of how he has handled it and still vote for him...but it just shows he didn't do his job.

It wasn't his place to cure the virus, all he had to do was give the semblance that there was a well running machine making sure folks got supplies/resources, that medical experts were given their resources to research the virus, find a vaccine and methods to treat and to reassure the American peopple.

Even the tanking economy wasn't his fault or doing but it was his business to assure the people that this was a setback, they would work to try and 'help' and that the priority was the health and well being of citizens -- not how it looked for his re-election.

The Trump supporters that sit there and say Trump handled this perfectly and just blame the democratic led cities/states for the poor response to Covid are delusional. Stop trying to cast blame elsewhere instead of looking at the one person that is in charge of this country. Yes, the states are in control of their policies in terms of Covid, but if Trump had come out in February and said that this virus is bad, very bigly bad ....etc. the people of this country could have taken different personal steps to mitigate the current situation. Instead he comes out and says it's nothing, it's a hoax, will be gone in no time and his supporters who believe every lie that comes out of his mouth take that to heart. That is the real issue here. Stop looking for scapegoats and look at the one person you support blindly.

Look at it this way and ask yourself this question. If you were in a building with Trump and a fire started. He's told that it's out of control. He turns around and tells you, "it's nothing, nothing to worry about. We have it under control." Next thing you know the entire place is in flames and you're going up with it. Would you be ok with it, because Trump downplayed it so he didn't cause a panic or would you be pissed off that you weren't warned so you could take action yourself?
