FBI is under the jurisdiction of the DOJ. If this was legitimately incriminating, the FBI under the direction of the DOJ (Barr), could/would have brought charges against Hunter Biden because they've had the laptop for almost a year now.
The FBI has had the hard drive for over a year. The DE State police now has a copy.
I'm thinking that the FBI and/or DE State Attorney's office will wait until after the election before arresting Hunter Biden. They don't want the arrest to influence the election.

According to the DE AG's office, they sent the copy of the data that Rudy gave to the New Castle County PD to the FBI. So, now we know they have it. Before that, completely unknown since the FBI won't comment.
