Americans made it clear they don't want a blue wave. What most wanted was a new Pres with a balance of power.

Hit the nail on the head. In a way, even if Trump loses, this is sort of a win for republicans. They held the Senate and gained seats in the House. Losing Trump for them might be addition by subtraction. Although, his replacement (Biden) is a step backwards IMO. Maybe Biden will surprise us, and with all the scrutiny around his family try to save his reputation by actually trying to work with folks from both sides of the aisle. I'm not convinced he is capable in his frail state, but on can hope.
