He has been hit with 3500 lawsuits for nonpayment to workers. That’s just the people who decided to take it to court.
The complaints from subs who worked on the hotel in Washington was legendary. I’m not sure how many liens have been filed but we could look it up.
This is not from left wing news outlets.
Almost everyone knows someone personally, in nj, who either was stuffed or waited years to get paid.
He even writes about it in his book.
Sorry your sneakiness doesn’t work here. Your link says nothing about the 3500 figure you just threw out there with no evidence. The Trump organization literally deals with tens of thousands of companies, workers and contractors. No organization is going to have a perfect relationship with everyone that they deal with. There are always going to be disgruntled people with axes to grind and they “tell” their version of the story.

Keep in mind also that many of these contractors here in the NY/NJ area are shady and possibly with mob ties. Dealing with these types are a totally different animal than one would in other parts of the country.

All you’re doing is taking one’s side of the story as long as it bashes Trump.

I think they did a good thing just like many big businesses get a bailout but Trump did renegotiate his debts and got his casino back in shape but eventually they were shutdown due to the climate of the casino business in the area and he already moved past to become a RE developer.

So his timing was good. As much people knock it, I say he was smart that he got out just in time. I've had big business debts that I offloaded and gotten new credit line to springboard other ventures.

Having more a billion in debt shows creditors have more faith in him than other no name businessman. Only the poor and non-enterprisers would knock Trump about debt.

Debt is leverage.
Trump couldn’t get money anymore from US banks, none wanted anything to do with him because he never paid his debt. That’s why he had to go to Russia and the Saudis.

If the building is structurally sound I'm surprised it isn't re-purposed as public housing, elderly housing, or condos.

Is there a plan for another building in it's place?

My link was about Atlantic City. The 3500 number is well known and I didn’t think I needed to link. I am sure it is closer to 5000 now because that 3500 was about 5 years old. Here’s a book detailing all the legal issues written by a legal scholar as you seem interested in the details
https://lapa.princeton.edu/content/p...-3500-lawsuits
I hope you read it and learn something.

It isn’t structurally sound. There is apparently falling debris from the building, which has been in disrepair for 6 years. Someone apparently bought the land in 2018. This is from Wikipedia, so can’t be 100% certain of accuracy:

“Carl Icahn bought the deed to the land Trump Plaza sits on, and terminated the complicated lease on the land that drove potential buyers out in late December 2018.[37] On June 11, 2020, mayor Marty Small Sr. announced that Icahn has submitted plans for the hotel towers to be imploded, as they were considered a danger to public safety because of falling debris.”

Well that was not clear at all. Didn’t mean to upset you, but things aren’t always interpreted the way you think they’re going to be when it’s just symbols. I did read the original post though, so don’t be mad at me.

Most of them were not New York North Jersey contractors, they were contractors from the South Jersey area. Many had to give up other customers in order to complete the work that Trump wanted done. It left a lot of them bankrupt. He’s a grifter, not a true businessman.
