These are the people who have been extremely overexposed to "woke" academia and have a serious case of white guilt for their effort. They wear skinny jeans, drink soy lattes, pontificate a lot of theoretical things, can't change their own oil or use simple power tools, and have 6 figures of college debt and a quarter acre of property.
By the way: I'm college educated and live in the suburbs, and voted for Trump.

Pretty simple really - they reflect their constituents. This is how our representative government works (or doesn't work). The basic assumption is that the average citizen is rational and will never choose a representative that would work against our Constitution and would never be self destructive or embrace lunacy.
What we are seeing today is that this basic assumption is flawed. The under-educated and the deluded can find one another and form a coalition of ignorance in order to get people like this elected. After all they got Trump elected, so not certain why this would be so surprising.

Then why isn't Kathy Griffin in prison? Why is the assassinate Trump hashtag still up on twitter? Because leftists want free speech for themselves and not their opposition.

Many a leftist commented on wishing horrible things happen to Trump and his family, does that mean all leftist feels that way? AOC and her so-called squad are pretty radical, calling for republicans to be put in camps, and as for Hillary, no one believes that. How many didn’t? A radical group pulled that and thousands did not, how many radicals destroyed buildings and businesses during the summer? How many rioted and yes, they tried to get into the White House, and would have if they were able to.

Biden won by pulling moderate Republicans from the suburbs into the party. There is actually a diverse coalition within the DNC including a small center/right faction..and yes the crazies.
The perceived requirement to belong to the GOP right now is loyalty to Trump....no real platform...just loyalty to Trump. The GOP are losing the adults in the room.
