From a winning the presidency standpoint — popular vote is NOT strategized for. Politicians spend the bulk of their time in a handful of swing states.
From a winning the presidency standpoint, the person who wins the popular vote generally wins the electoral college. While presidential candidates focus on swing states, simple demographics tell us that the United States is increasingly urban, urban areas tend to be more liberal, so the United States is trending more liberal, not more conservative. And that trend is demonstrated by the popular vote. Eventually, the advantage that the electoral college gives conservative candidates will not be enough to win the election. The Republican party will have to move to the left to remain competitive.
Yeah, that gosh-darned stolen (not stolen) election. Whew, that's a close one. Thankfully we have the other 47% of Republicans (the ones with a brain and a conscience) and most of the Democrats who would NOT vote for him - in 2024 or ever.
75 million just voted for him and now dems are desperate to sell a narrative that nobody like him. Let’s face it — two elections for leader of the free world drained the political equity of the Democratic Party for generations.
Trump will be 80 in 2024. Come on man. He's in full donate grifter mode now. He has years of lawsuits and criminal investigations ahead of him. But hey, go ahead and donate to his next super PAC. Even McConnell is pushing him away.
2016, Trump lost the popular vote by 2.1 million.
2020, Trump lost the popular vote by 7.0 million.
Do I see a trend here? Yes, please run Trump in 2024. He'll lose by 10.0 million or more.
Popular vote is irrelevant as none of the candidates strategize for it. Dems know Trump is insanely popular and any national election involving him comes down to voter turnout which means A LOT more effort....especially to maintain 2020 turnout levels. Identity politics has hit peak saturation so where do dems turn to drive turnout?
And then you have an entire impeachment solely based on not wanting Trump to be able to run again.

Talk about wishful thinking - and add to that that the RNC is chock full of conservative white men, but not STUPID conservative white men. They will never - make that NEVER - trot this washed up horse out into any Presidential race. They, unlike Trump, care about the future of the Republican Party. Trump was not found guilty of insurrection only because of spineless Republicans refusing to look at the truth, but every American with eyes and ears knows what happened that day. January 6, 2021 was the end of Trump.
