But wouldn't this also hold true during the entire flu season?

With that in mind, should we all be forced to wear masks 24/7/365, because a person could be infected with the measles, mumps, whooping cough, etc...
Well, at least you have a legitimate answer and have given it some thought. The idea was to limit the number of infected persons, infected by an unknown virus that might lead to patients flooding hospitals and maybe morgues. Masks would (and have) helped during flu the season. Flu viruses have vaccines and the typical flu is not as deadly as covid and perhaps more importantly, not as contagious. But believe it or not, I worry that the use of masks during this pandemic might be considered during flu seasons. It comes down to risk/reward and I have said we are becoming a society that is becoming too fearful. I spent my whole childhood (long ago), with no thought of wearing a helmet while riding my bike.

I don't need your snark. I do not make comments out of ignorance.

The title of this post is misleading and I think you all missed the point. To be fair, the article wasn't clear either. This is not about changing distancing to 3 feet for adults in line at Walmart. This is about the spacing of children's desks in schools.

Well, you misread my sentiments. No snark was intended. One of the earlier comments to me was one of those conspiracy theory responses. Yours was not another which I appreciated. But if you don't want me to bother you again that's okay with me.

You can sniff someone's hair from three feet away, not well, but it can be done. Six feet is just too far away.

3 feet? Lmfao. Didn't various studies and experiments last year show that virus particles can be exhaled much further than 6 feet?

Doesn't matter because many people don't even observe three feet, last week some dude behind me in the supermarket checkout line was like a foot behind me and putting his stuff on the belt.

If I recall - 10 feet.

So the AMA is mistaken?

https://www.ama-assn.org/delivering-...ew-about-masks

I am sorry, but I just cannot keep up with what is true and what isn't!

(The above article was written in August 2020, and it does advocate wearing masks to lessen the possibility of being infected with COVID.)
