I live in what Americans would call a socialist utopia, with Universal Heathcare. The idea of mandating vaccines was thrown out pretty early on. I really doubt if the authorities couldn't implement it here that it would fly in the US.
I'm not in favour of mandating vaccines. I do not think it's reasonable for anyone to require a person to undertake medical procedures. But I also don't think it's reasonable to push unfounded fears onto others because you've decided vaccines aren't right for you. That's just coercion from the other side.
The notion of a vaccine passport has already faced resistance in Texas, with Gov. Greg Abbott issuing an order Monday barring some businesses from mandating proof of vaccination.
As the White House and Texas push back against vaccine passports, countries around the globe are requiring varying levels of proof of vaccination for their citizens. The European Union and China committed to moving ahead with government-mandated "vaccine passports" for citizens to prove they’ve been inoculated against COVID-19.
The EU has plans for a “digital green pass” for EU citizens, and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson said Monday the country would test out vaccine passports. China’s government also said it intended to develop a certification program for citizens to show proof of vaccination or negative test results. And in February, Israel initiated its “Green Badge” system to exclude non-vaccinated individuals from certain activities.
Interesting legal battles ahead. Glad I am in America. There is no way private business are going to be able to demand our HEALTH RECORDS, or any portion thereof, to enter.
The Supreme Court has not said that private businesses cannot mandate vaccines, either. Being unvaccinated is not a protected class.
Disabled are a protected class. So what is going to happen when the grocery store asks for proof of vaccination and people claim protection under the ADA? They can't force production of documents revealing the disability.
It may not affect your freedom, it affects the freedom of people who choose to not get vaccinated, is that ok with you?
Forced EXPERIMENTAL vaccines or one may literally no longer live? Can't work, buy food, etc.
Do you know how there is violence already with forced masks? I wonder what kind of hell might come out of this when someone loses it because they can not live if they do not take a vaccine.

I read youtube comments and some say they will fight the government if they force vaccines to live in society.
what lawyers will take up cases against these businesses?
I am curious how far this will go. maybee most businesses will not require it.

So how do private businesses weigh the risk of shutting their doors and services to those who either can't or won't get vaccinated? And how much information about a customer's vaccination or COVID-19 test history can they share with other customers?

Actually it is totally bonkers to believe what this lady wrote. You are spreading vaccine misinformation, which can cause harm to people by thinking they should not getting vaccinated. Israel is 60% vaccinated, are you aware of how well its working there or not?
It harms all of us because we can't get back to normal until people like you get infected and die, or recover while us vaccinated people wait for it to work its way through your bodies...and there's too many of you.
we can go back to normal like Florida now. we don't have to do anything if you get sick you get sick that is life. not everyone needs to be vaccinated. this virus will always be with us. so no i am not willing to lose my freedom for this virus. we never needed everyone to be vaccinated for other viruses.
I think what we can do is encourage state legislators to ban vaccine passports.
Florida did. And Texas has forbidden businesses to require vaccination to enter.
Imagine the complications.
A Restaurant owner in Israel said all these people are coming to him with dr notes and excuses about why they don't a have a vaccine, he says he doesn't want to know all of this and so he doesn't enforce it.
What that article I posted earlier said and what this video says about Israel is not true, though. It doesn't apply to grocery stores or even malls. It applies to restaurants, gyms, stadiums, and hotels.

The short version is civil liberties are being attacked in the U.S. U.K. Australia, & Canada and legislation is similar.
I quickly found documentation to disprove what she said about Israel, I don't think her website is a good source for 'information'.
The Biden administration has stated there will be no federal mandate or vaccine passport. (I provided a source for that upthread)
The UK is leery of a vaccine passport. And if they use one a negative COVID test or proof that one has had COVID will also suffice.

It looks like Florida, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri and Nebraska are all planning to ban the passports. I hope more will join this ban.
