Who was talking about summer jobs? They were talking about during school and on weekends.

Just looked it up on indeed. 412 lifeguard jobs in a 25 mile radius.
As many hours as you can spare. $12-25 an hour. Most are 15-20. Cute girls and guys your own age to hang out with all day (the ads don't say that but I'm assuming).

Yes. that is what low entry level workers would prefer to do today and that is what is causing the shortage. Hey, it might get better in September

There ya go. Thanks for the info

How about the Etsy questions since you live nearby Etsy headquarters and have insight into it?

Those pesky assumptions are often wrong. Learned at a very young age to never assume and has served me well.

We are talking about right now. The shortage today. Did I miss something?
You blame it on generous unemployment. I think it is more about better jobs, a different lifestyle and starting your own business.

You are assuming that restaurants can't find employees because of UI benefits

Having the power of the whistle is a major power trip for a young teen, and they get to spend all day outside with regular breaks to keep their ability to stay focused. Plus, they get to man the snackbar when they’re not in the chair. Infinitely better than slinging burgers all day.
Who’s knocking a lifeguard job?
