If I truly had a desire to explore solar I would contact them directly for information not from their competitor...

Is your utility incompetent? Solar and wind are the cheapest forms of energy in the U.S. or, at worst, no more expensive than natural gas, coal, or nuclear. To charge 25% more means they are doing something wrong.

It's $0.30 in Germany that relies heavily on solar and wind, and which has closed all nuclear stations.

So, you'll have to pay 100% more for solar.
To be fair its not like Germany can drill itself out of a problem as the US did with natural gas. And Nuclear always sounds good until you see the plans to build one in your backyard.

Personally, I think energy companies are more concerned about improving solar panels and Teslas' research on Single Family solar panel use for all electricity needs.

If Tesla released a product that worked but only the rich had access to, Electric companies know that technology advancements would make it affordable to Middle-class families within 10-20 years. That would end the monopolies that most of these energy companies operate under.

I see all this as a scare tactic.

What will you say if your neighbor decides to build a 280-feet-tall wind turbine in her backyard?

With solar they would have ZERO fuel cost. They should be talking about giving you a discount.

The cheapest Tesla S cost $57,400 in 2012. The cheapest one costs $69,000 in 2021.

What are these technology advancements you're talking about?

It's a trick question.
I've had solar on my house since 2009. It does not work 24/7.

An energy grid utilizing solar is not the same thing as putting a solar panel on your home.
