Republicans Tried to Overturn an Election. Never Let Them Forget It
There has never been a greater betrayal by a President of the United States.
The whitewashing of January 6 is being feverishly pitched by those Republicans who maintain monomaniacal loyalty to the dishonored and disgraced former president. And Americans, who favor democracy and truth over pledging allegiance to a fantasy spun by an autocrat, should not let them get away with it and should never let them forget, I agree.
Never let them forget the violent mob attacking the United States Capitol to obstruct the process of our democracy and to stop the counting of the electoral votes. Never let them forget the insurrection and failed coup that caused injury, death and destruction in the most sacred space in our Republic. Never let them forget it was their Republican leaders who aided and abetted this subversion of democracy and who to this day are still showing us they are immune to facts and bereft of decency and willing to betray the United States of America.
Republicans have shown us they cannot function within the ground rules of our system — that candidates concede when they lose, that they respect a free press, that they stick to facts and embrace majority rule. Such a party cannot exist in our democracy because they have become the party that places fealty to Trump and his BIG LIE and his betrayal over democracy and truth.
It is clear the GOP is willfully choosing & trying to forget, but one look at even a few minutes of how that day unfolded--- as orchestrated by the Republican POTUS,who summoned his mob, assembled his mob and lit the flame of the attack ---tells us all we need to know.
And shamefully any decent Republican who chooses democracy over Trump, and dares speak the truth about January 6 and The Big Lie, will be punished, as we also are now witnessing and should never forget.
If discovery finds problems with the election results then it should be overturned. I'm all for looking forward, but I'm more for squashing anything gained via fraud. Nobody should benefit from deceptions.
Donald Trump tried to overturn an election. Only certain Rs went along with those efforts. Other Rs (notably the R govs of AZ and GA) stood up to those efforts and honored their oaths to the Constitution in the face of improper actions and pressure from the POTUS.
Absolutely. Of the AZ audit co to use the way it’s going and exposes the fraud perpetrated by the dems, dementia joe and heels up should be immediately removed from the White House by force and put straight on a plain to Gitmo for eternity and President Trump rightfully reinstated at once. All dementia Joe’s EOS should also be voided and rescinded at once.
