Why? I just saw a clip on ESPN half an hour ago. The guy seemed very happy and sincere. No showboating. No political background. Devoid of any virtue signaling.

Locker room? That's still the excuse? You don't think his teammates didn't know?

By the way, Derek Carr is a very outspoken conservative Christian. The leader and QB of the team.

Again, same to you, why? He was gay either way. You just didn't know. So is it a problem for you because he's gay or because now you know he's gay?

And Derek Carr should worry more about being a perpetual underachiever rather than the sexual orientation of his teammates.

I'd say as a "proud Penn State man through and through"....

You've probably had worse moments than this one in regards to sexual orientation issues.

Why do they need to tell everyone? If it's not a big deal then don't make it one.
Why do people need to announce their engagement? When they change jobs? Have a baby? Death in a family? What they had for a god damn breakfast?

Why are any of the above and million other ones ok to announce, but announcing you're gay is "making it a big deal"?

Not every Christian is bigoted against gays...the Pastor of my Episcopal Church is very LGBT friendly. Even the music director of the church is gay.

Carr actually sucks...easily 15 QBs I'd take over him to lead my team

Nope. Being exceptional doesn't mean you get credit for doing mundane things.

Derek Carr does not dictate how Carl Nassib lives his life. If Derek has a problem with Carl Nassib being gay, well Derek can go sit in a corner and pout about it. I swear folks claim they are not homophobic, all the while proving that they are homophobic in so many words. As far as Penn State goes, this is a not a low moment at all for Penn State. That whole Sandusky mess and the coverup for it was a low point for Penn State!!
