Haiti wasn’t a colony. Nearly all Haitians were slaves, pre-independence. Maybe you did it on purpose but you do realize your arguing for slavery. You also somehow believe Haitian slaves had a better life than when independent. You also believe African colonies had a better life, when all African countries are more developed today than when they were colonies and have significantly longer life expectancies.
1. Haiti was a French colony, hence the reason they speak French.
2. Slavery was a dying breed and Haitians would not be slaves in 2021. Colonization without slavery was very widespread (see Hong Kong under British rule).
3. Singapore and Hong Kong would not be what is is today without British colonization.
4. African countries are not “more developed” today and rank dead last on every single world ranking, hence the reason why many leave their countries known as brain drain.
5. Not even the Dominican Republic respects Haiti.
6. The lottery winners of the African diaspora, African Americans, will not be mass migrating to Haiti or African countries anytime soon and for very good reason. They’re failed states.
7. Haiti (and other African countries) thought they could build a Wakanda and they failed horribly. From slavery of colonization to slavery of a failed state and endless civil unrest, there is no difference. But hey, at least the white folks are gone!
8. The fact that Haiti is asking for US assistance to back their next dictator, after blaming the “DEA” and requiring their First Lady to seek healthcare in America, is all the evidence you need to know about the “progress” Haiti has made during their independence.
