I love Republicans as they are not Democrats and Trump 2024 but.. Wow we really are not doing too well right now, are we.

I've been aware of it for at least 20 years. But when lemmings start jumping, they are likely impossible to stop. Disconnect is the only way to avoid being swept over the edge with the lemmings. Unfortunately, very few are ready for that. They'd rather sink with the Titanic.

Agree. The ideas behind this are both enticing and toxic and people can be shown that with persuasive arguments, I believe. I would think something as out-of-left-field as indoctrination programs would be a big red flag. Never mind the proposals from the democrats to basically nationalize everything possible, which screams power grab. We have to get past the first stage though, acceptance.
It's actually way earlier than any of them would have ever wanted to be exposed. They don't have nearly what they need for absolute power grab and a move to The Empire. I do think those on the right, at least some, right now are essentially the "rebel forces." Pesky thorns in their sides.

When O'Reilly was on Fox , I E-mailed him about the take over by the democrats and make it a one party system . Now he gets it. Kind of late . This was many many years ago.

Not only that but they are using progressives as a means to an end. Real marxism is not the socialist utopian melting pot where everyone gets UBI like the left wants... it's a homogeneous police state where dissenting thought is not allowed and useless eaters get quietly dealt with.

When the money goes to those who are old as SS does, the person has a choice to work or retire. They also have their paychecks docked for SS . The also have their SS check docked for healthcare and to be fully covered one must have gap insurance to pay for the extra 20% the medicare does not cover. It is not a freebie.

Socialism is not about freebies. You are fighting a figment of your imagination. It's not your fault, you have been misled.
Social Security is doing something the private enterprise system could do, but they would not make enough money at it. Private enterprise would skim a profit off of Social Security and keep some of those hard earned dollars from the rightful recipients. The system we have today is owned by the people who use it: the American people. We all share the risk and the rewards, it is insurance against destitution in one's sunset years.
It's about sharing and caring, not freebies.
Full disclosure, I am on Social Security and Medicare myself, at my age my benefit is not reduced if I work.
When Social Security was introduced, it was fought tooth and nail by the Republicans, and the Republican Party has had a longstanding goal of dismantling the program. What was the argument the Republicans made against Social Security in the 1930's?
You guessed it: creeping communism.
The same argument they make against national health care today.
It other words this is the old Republican playbook. We have seen it all before.
These are the kinds of programs you are attacking on this thread, you view them as something frightful and dangerous, but that is only because you have been fed these fears for a long time. The truth is we are not headed into the abyss or anything like that, and Marxists are not slowly taking over our country.
