Stories like this are a dime a dozen in Chicago. Their gun laws clearly have not made the city safer. In fact, they have exacerbated the problem by pushing gun culture and guns themselves into the hands of criminals, while honest law abiding citizens are inconvenienced and hassled for owning a means of defending themselves and their families.

Chicago is a very bizarre city. Hard to imagine it in anything but a state of decline. The politicians have really made a mess of that place, and charged a fortune for their "service". The tax payers of that city are the greatest victims of all this.

Got him as he walked out of the jail.

Oh, he was being released on ankle bracelet for a felon with a gun, one can only guess how many people he's shot over the years.

I was just surprised at the volume of firepower and doing it right outside the jail.
Kind of ironic that he was safer in jail, where alot of violence takes place. And I'm assuming the person who shot him isn't all that concerned about prison time.

Definitely some psychopaths involved. I also thought of something. The very nature of gang life means a shortened life. I think gang members understand this. They are willing to die for the gang. They are more loyal to the gang than their own city, state, or country. There are gangs in the prisons. I'm in favor of getting stricter on gangs. At the same time, it seems as if said gang members aren't even afraid of an early death. If there is no fear of death, fear of punishment might not even be there either.

Think what they did with the other 23.5 hours of that day.

I've thought about what might happen if gangs get classified as terrorist groups. I wonder how they would be treated under the law.

What we don’t know is how many rounds were fired. Might have been hundreds and 60 hit the target? Regardless, the shooters intended to make a point and they did.
I suspect that most of the hits came after he went down and they likely stood at very close range and mag-dumped his body as it lay there. (Or the 60yo woman would have been hit more)

I don't think there is a law you can make that some of the DA's in this country won't just refuse to enforce or plea bargain away....drop charges etc.

Or the 60 year old woman was hit accidentally because she was in on it.

Gotta love the first reaction of our fearless Führer Beetlejuice (aka Mayor Lori Lightfoot). "It's not my fault!!"
