Thank God for that.
I vote everyone who wants a civil war, go set up yourselves a little town in Nebraska and have a go at each other. Let us know who wins your little town.
I don't think splitting up the US will require a war. At some point the two sides will be so sick of each other, they'll be willing to let the other go. But there are problems.
There are three patches of liberal states, the entire west coast, the north east (although getting farther south), and the upper midwest. Most of what's in between is conservative. So does the US split into 4 countries? That seems messy. There is one alternative. All the liberal blocks have borders with Canada. Maybe they join that?
There's another problem. There are a lot of states where the majority of the state's area is conservative, but geographically small but very population dense metropolitan areas are liberal. Some of these states may break up, with parts going either way. California is very much like this. Once you get north of the bay area, it's very conservative, and they've talked about splitting off already.

Once SFS splits off from USTA, I don't give two hits what happens to it. Whether they join Canada or form their own little countries, that's on them at that point. As for the liberal pockets in USTA, they'll have two choices: (A) move to SFS, or (B) suck it up, buttercup.
The South and Midwest might secede and become the United States of ‘Murica (USM). As a result, the remaining USA would be split in half. Not sure if they would become two separate countries, like the US of the West and US of the East. Or maybe the rest of the USA could just merge with Canada, assuming the Canadians allow it.
The nation is splitting apart for a bunch of reasons, while climate change will depopulate a bunch of states. A few basic regions are likely to emerge as new nations:
1. New England might merge with the Canadian Maritimes. Canada splitting apart is also likely.
2. New York, New Jersey, Penn. As sea level rises and coastal weather gets more violent, rivers and higher Appalachian land will increase in value.
Maryland and West Virginia might go with NY-NJ-PA or the Confeds. What Delaware joins is a minor detail, since sea level rise will eventually cover much or all of it.
3. Confederate states, except Texas. Florida is another goner state like Delaware.
4. Texas and Oklahoma.
5. Great Lakes. Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan.
6. Middle states. This might be one nation or a prairie nation and a mountain nation.
7. A bunch of western desert states could become too dry to sustain formal government, so some warlord with a spring or well could be the local power. Desertification and depopulation could go as far as the Mississippi River.
8. West coast. Oregon and Washington might merge with British Columbia to make Cascadia. California will be in serious trouble for a long while.
9. Alaska might merge with some of Canada, be its own nation, or split apart because it's huge.
10. Hawaii could become a colony of whatever nation eventually controls the Pacific. Hurricanes will get more frequent and severe, so naval powers might just cool off for a while and let surviving island populations handle their own affairs.

The South and the Midwest have different "flavors" of conservatism, so uniting them closely could be an issue, even if a minor one. The South is vehemently anti-union and pro-Jesus, with the predominant religion being Baptist, and church is almost a prerequisite to being a member of society---even I wouldn't fit in there. The Midwest is more pro-union or at least tolerates them better, due to its history of steel mills, and church is more of a popular social event than a societal prerequisite; the predominant religions are Lutheran, mainline Protestant, or Catholic. You also forgot Intermountain West, which is largely secular, with church being left to individual choice, and unions don't play a major role there at all. Florida is kind of in its own category, being a hybrid of South and Intermountain West, politics-wise.
Sorosfaucistan can join Canada and/or Mexico, and throw its borders wide open, for all I care. Just as its founding sponsors want done in the USA nowadays.
