Even if the Reuter’s article is correct - and it could be - that still doesn’t negate the fact that there is a chance nurses will become infected regardless of vaccination status. If the reasoning for firing these nurses is because they could spread the virus to a patient, then that should apply to other nurses as well. Besides, it’s not like unvaccinated nurses wouldn’t be taking the exact same precautions and wearing the same protective equipment as the others.
The reality is that the hospital wants to make an example of those who won’t go along with the plan.
Maybe hospitals should just put up a sign that says
"We are a privately owned business. No employees without shoes, shirts or covid vaccines will be permitted entry"
When you add the shoes and shirts, People understand that concept and don't consider it an infringement on their sacred freedoms.
Hospitals will be overrun everywhere soon because we have a highly contagious virus and the leaky vaccines cannot stop it. Firing nurses and doctors is so dumb.

The leaky vaccines are not stopping it because of people who are not vaccinated. The vaccines are still about 90% effective against hospitalization, even with the Delta variant. By not getting vaccinated, you are making yourself much more likely to need a hospital bed (and nurses.)
The vaccines are the best tool we have to keep the hospital from being over-run. Encouraging people to stand up for their "right" to take up space in the hospital is not the best way to address a nurse shortage.
Very good point.
Back when the pandemic started, not one resident of a nursing home had the corona virus. The first thing the homes did was bar visitation from the home and issue masks to employees.
Within weeks the nursing homes were infested with corona virus. Where did it come from????? The unvaccinated staff. Yes I know there was no vaccinations then. But the point stands.
Unvaccinated staff can infest an entire medical establishment with a virus that kills. Even wearing masks. People aren't perfect 100% of the time.
Now all nursing homes vaccinate the residents and staff must be vaccinated or get a clean test weekly to keep their job. Infection rates in nursing homes are near zero.
They were putting freezer trucks outside some nursing homes because the morgues were full and couldn't take any more bodies.
RISK OF CANCER FROM MRNA MESSENGER GENE THERAPIES
“For the first time in human history that it is used in such a mutable virus, mRNA technology. MRNA can integrate into human DNA by creating a modification of human genetic material – says Dr. Pasquale Bacco – It has demonstrated the ability to activate oncogenic genes and genes linked to most autoimmune diseases. It can itself mutate, giving rise to viral variants of which it is impossible to predict the consequences. In addition, to stabilize the mRNA, it is added with heavy metals which are, over time “.
Why would anybody want to keep their job instead of their life?

That is pure fantasy, ncole. The leaky vaccines do not prevent transmission. You flash assume that the only options are to get the vaccine or do nothing at all, just wait to die from covid. You also falsely assume that most everyone who is not vaccinated will need to be hospitalized.

Why do they do it?????? BECAUSE THEY CAN!
I’m not saying the hospital doesn’t have the right to fire them. I’m saying it’s stupid and if the reasoning behind it is supposedly to protect patients, then that’s a false premise given that the vaccinated can get and spread Covid.

That is a new finding with the Delta, and medical recommendations need to keep up. More studies are needed to compared clinical impacts of the vaccinated spreading. Next step will be booster #3, and then in 100 days an edited mRNA vaccine that more specifically addresses the Delta.

Yesterday when I went to CVS there was a sign on the door saying the CDC recommends masks regardless of vaccination, they are starting to keep up....

A sufficiently large unvaccinated population means a fair number will be hospitalized. It may be a minority, but there is only room for so many covid patients before it is over-run.
If everyone were vaccinated who could be, this would conserve a lot of space because the vaccinated people would be 90% less likely to be hospitalized. At least.
