30 day suspension for not standing for the anthem? What is this China???
Should have expelled them instead.
I expect consequences would have been swift in China. Unless you're physically unable to stand up, get the hell up and stand there with the other 8,000 people that are proud to be Americans. If you can't be bothered, make sure you're in the restroom when the time comes. Or show up late. Or just stay home.

expelled? lmao..
no, there shouldn’t be any consequences for sitting down.
Proud Americans should understand that America is the land of the FREE. No one has to stand for a song or a flag.
This is happening because schools’ hands are being tied. You can thank the Obama administration and their “Dear Colleague” letters for it. See there were studies out that showed there was a very strong correlation between a person being suspended in school and a person ending up in prison and these IDIOTS, instead of saying to themselves “gosh, now we know who the kids are that we should try to work on reforming so they stop going down the wrong path” decided the solution was to stop suspending students.
Freaking idiots.
First they didn’t stand for the flag.. and we said nothing
Bet they would have stood for the black national anthem.
The teacher should not have insisted they stood but I'd be willing to bet that these little animals took it to whole other level.
You mean this anthem?
Lift Every Voice and Sing
The Black National Anthem (1900)
Words: James Weldon Johnson
Music: John Rosamond Johnson
Lift every voice and sing, till earth and heaven ring,
Ring with the harmonies of liberty;
Let our rejoicing rise, high as the listening skies,
Let it resound loud as the rolling sea.
Sing a song full of faith that the dark past has taught us,
Sing a song full of hope that the present has brought us;
Facing the rising sun of our new day begun,
Let us march on till victory won.
Stony the road we trod, bitter the chastening rod,
Felt in the days when hope unborn had died;
Yet with a steady beat, have not our weary feet,
Come to the place for which our fathers sighed?
We have come over a way that with tears has been watered,
We have come, treading our path through the blood of the slaughtered;
Out from the gloomy past, till now we stand at last
Where the white gleam of our star is cast.
God of our weary years, God of our silent tears,
Thou who has brought us thus far on the way;
Thou who hast by Thy might, led us into the light,
Keep us forever in the path, we pray.
Lest our feet stray from the places, our God, where we met Thee,
Lest our hearts, drunk with the wine of the world, we forget Thee.
Shadowed beneath Thy hand, may we forever stand,
True to our God, true to our native land.
Lawton, OK is a military town AND always was AND always will be a military town filled with military, former military, retirees and their family members. Without Fort Sill, the town couldn’t survive.
Anyway, if those two kid are not happy in the evil and racist USA, they should illegally sneak into another country of their choice since right now, millions would be more than happy to trade with them.
Just another case of two dumb@zz teens who don’t know nothing other than what the communist Left tells them what to believe.
Yes but it’s also home to the Comanche Nation, the people who were in these lands before the U.S. was here. These children are “Indian” and they are known to have differing sentiments. They don’t need to find anywhere else other than the land that was and is theirs.

Sounds like this teacher was a Karen. Why the need for an officer?
Why the need to demand kids stand at a pep rally?
Yes, I believe it was the case of Karen vs. rude children. We all know if Karen cries and often if she lies, the police come running. I don’t believe all the other children were standing for the anthem at the pep rally. Half the time children don’t stand at those events. The teacher likely called them out, knowing they would be rude and she could make a deal out of it. They should not have been rude but the entire scenario was unnecessary.
At least their names are now out there and local guys can be forewarned.

The “notakeeper” comment is creepy.
