Get rid of the govt/insurance healthcare model and guaranteed people will make better choices once they become financially responsible for their poor lifestyle choices
sure there are a bunch of fat unhealthy people in this country but the covid deaths don't "prove" this... Most covid deaths are old people here.
also look at countries like India that have huge populations there... There aren't a bunch of fat McD drive through folks there. You can also be very skinny and unhealthy as well.

Actually "most" covid deaths are overweight/obese people per the CDC demographics....to the tune of 85% dead were overweight/obese.
I don't think it's true that people who are fit or eat healthy are less likely to become seriously ill with covid. This kind of belief gives some people a false sense of security. We still don't know why some people (blood type, genetics) get sick and others don't.
What makes you ill is actually your own immune system. The patient can't breathe because the strong immune system floods the lungs with mucous trying to remove the virus. Or the patient goes into organ failure from the cytokine storm released by the immune system.
Once you are already in that condition then yes your general health affects whether you have enough strength to survive your own immune system. But that is true of all illnesses.
No they don't. It's people that need to be educated so they buy and eat healthy foods.
At some point individuals have to be held responsible for their decisions.
You can't spend your life blaming someone else for your problems.
I'm not blaming someone else. You will never get the masses to read and understand food labels. Most don't know what many of the ingredients are anyway.
At minimum, we need to get non-food items out of our prepared foods. Ever hear of GRAS items in food? Generally Recognized As Safe. These are non-food substances added to many foods to maintain color or texture - in other words, for no good reason.

Hope you're not a real doctor with this "I don't think" rhetoric. Offer some evidence at least.
I think our food industry needs to be educated on nutrition. Surely they could make prepared foods from healthy ingredients that also taste good.
It needs to be a multi-faceted approach starting with educating children on proper nutrition as well as educating adults and especially people involved in the food industry. We also need to educate the AHA and FDA on proper nutrition as they seem clueless.
We need to learn from the longest-lived people on the planet and take their approach until we catch up. According to WHO, the longest lifespan on the planet by country are:
1. Japan
2. Switzerland
3. South Korea
4. Singapore
5. Spain
I lived in South Korea and obesity was almost never seen and highly frowned upon. Their medical system hinges on people making sure they are fit and healthy to lower the cost and it works great.
I also lived in Spain and owned an apartment there for several years and they also take food, nutrition, and exercise to heart (pun intended).
We have to look in the mirror and admit our society is a gigantic failure when it comes to health and nutrition and we owe it ourselves to take action.
So why aren't medical professionals pushing for lifestyle changes as much as the vaccine?
If you eat anything out of a box, is mostly garbage, not to mention countless fast food chains. Even some restaurants serve poor quality 'food.'
Because we’re a stupid country, it’s better to tell fat people to get a jab than to exercise and diet. Despite the fact you’re only a high risk if you don’t do the latter.
