They did that in May with the increased summer vacation people.
There was a huge surge in air travel over the summer and airlines scrambled to bring lots more planes/flights online.

This is a mere 6 months ago. The demand surpassed 2019 numbers.
And all of a sudden now they have "unexpected staff shortages" ?

Sure, airlines have to ramp back up but why is it so hard to admit Biden’s vaccine mandate is having an impact? It seems many Southwest pilots don’t want it as it could affect their ability to be clear headed. The union is fighting Biden’s mandate and I agree with them. Here’s an article from a lefty source so you cant say oh oh right leaning fake news.

It's shocking how little effort people are willing to put into researching a thing before they confidently declare that the thing isn't real. Is there ANYONE who's serious about knowing the truth? Or is everyone just happy confidently bathing in their self-imposed ignorance, as long as The Narrative supports their fantasy world?

ATC issues and disruptive weather have resulted in a high volume of cancellations throughout the weekend while we work to recover our operation. We appreciate your patience as we accommodate affected Customers, and Customer Service wait times are longer than usual.

FAA -

Due to a combination of severe weather, active military training in the airspace, and unexpected limited staff at the Jacksonville facility that handles high altitude, en-route traffic, the FAA took steps to safely manage air traffic the evening of Oct. 8. Normal operations returned at approximately 10pm.

Seriously, you guys are so unbelievably gullible at this point. You just believe whatever "the authorities" tell you, and the media is worse than useless in routing out the truth - they're complicit in the lies.

The masses have convinced themselves that everything is ok, going to plan and we are all going to sing Shiny Happy People by R.E.M. and all will be wonderful. Its either straight denial, or the notion of just think positive and all will be ok. This is after a pandemic, riots in major cities, class warfare with the vaxxed vs unvaxxed also now and supply chain shortages-that will get worse if the OSHA law goes into effect. Lots of things that are very worrying. Real things. No lizard shapeshifters or nanobot tracking.

That song sucks also by the way.....

Do you people have a focus problem, the thread was initiated based on claims of controller walkout, that turned out to be a lie. Now your off an running on riots and class warfare.

Airline companies are trying to cover it up by citing weather and controller issues but it's obvious due to the number of flights rapidly being cancelled all across the US that there's more to the story.
Southwest suffers operational meltdown as hundreds upon hundreds of flights canceled or delayed

The "wordplay" is awesome though....

From your link:

"..unexpected limited staff at the Jacksonville facility that handles high-altitude.."

They couldn't just say "not enough air traffic control people showed up for work"
Maybe those FAA guys did a sick out.

We won't be told if workers are rejecting these vaccine mandates. We'll have to read between the lines of stories of "unexpected staff shortage".

This is intentional. Make things vague enough that people cannot agree on reality. The entire goal of this kind of reporting is to allow their respective side to believe whatever fits their narrative (more clicks).

Honest reporters would answer the questions raised quickly and efficiently. The news "media" is entirely out for profit ONLY.

The "news media" is not objective anymore whatsoever.
IMO they have become the propaganda arm of the FedGov

How can the FAA have an "unexpected staff shortage" and no reporter questioned that ?

And then describe it so vaguely with "FAA imposed an air traffic management program" ? What the heck does that even mean ?

They are obfuscating the news on purpose.
