But Americans seem to think Russia is like in the movie Die Hard. They think Moscow is a bunch of rundown commie blocks with a perpetual grey overcast.

WRONG...Intelligent Americans know better. But the left Democrats are not very bright about Russian ways.

Putin can't afford a war so I predict he will pay off the Biden crime family to avoid war and save himself money and the lives of his own military.

The Dems get bribes from China and they don't want us to know. Look over there! Russia Russia Russia! But China is in dire straits so I don't know how long that program will last.

Putin n Biden are not BFFs. That was Trump who admired Putin. And wars can be started with just a few and then every one jumps in. It’s a money maker.

This is not reality.

California has a larger nominal GDP because of its place in the US economy.

Russia did try to join the west under Yeltsin and that destroyed its economy. Yelling social democracy isn't an answer for societies living on different geopolitical and cultural levels.

Russia is part of the orthodox world or 'eastern Rome'. Catholics and Protestant countries are part of the western world, and they are dedicated to destroying the other.

There are moments in history like under a German breed dynasty that the sides aligned, but they will not coexist as allies, nor can a massive country like Russia afford to be docile like Finland.

Grow up.

The oligarchs like hiding it overseas.

Looks like this single 'thorn' is more powerful than the whole gang.
What do you propose the rest do? Invade? That’s sooo twentieth century.

Russia is its own worst enemy these days. It’s in a decline.

Well no certainly not. Biden was tight with Ukraine for the mineral rights. Its the Serbian play all over again , but better. Kosovo mineral rights and telecom monopolies were chump change. You think it was just Hunter crack pipes and under age hookers?

No my misinformed, incapable rival. The minerals are remunerated into Russian taxes under the new regime much more than in former times.

LUKOIL’s business is subject to taxation inside and outside Russia. The scale of the Company’s business inside Russia means that its situation as a taxpayer is largely defined by taxes, which are payable in that country. Taxes paid in Russia as a share of total taxes paid by the Company were almost unchanged in 2014 at 88%.The main taxes paid by the Group in Russia are listed below.CORPORATE INCOME TAX

Introduced: 2002

When Putin arrived.

See the difference is these oligarchs decided to live in Russia which has nothing to do with the kindness of anyone's heart. , just self interest. its not something one can easily explain to leftists that think pink chariots should be pulled by unicorns over the sparking sea.

Nope, just mindless zombies too addled and lazy to properly research and vet subject matter and take whimsical positions based on nothing.

You could give anyone advice on being one's own worst enemy. They just can't use it as much as you.

Really? Just three days ago, 10 (ten) brand new subway stations opened in Moscow. One is more beautiful than another. And this is for public. Day by day Russia is updating her industrial and social infrastructure. Take a look at the links I have provided in this thread before. You will be stunned at how far Russia has advanced today in almost all areas.
What a decline you are talking about?

What’s CNN?

Sure.
That's why Putin and Biden spent some time talking recently, tet a tet.

Putin apparently forgot your memo about the "no enemies at the gates" and confused NATO's light-hearted walks around Russian borders with some more sinister motives.

I don't know the exact numbers, but it works this way:
* A woman gives birth to a child in California, the hospital sends her a $40,000 bill. In a communist country, all child birth procedures are free; moreover, the government provides a 1-year paid maternity leave to take care of the child.
* A woman wants to be a gynecologist in California and earn $250,000, she has to pay $500,000 in tuition fees first. In a communist country, a woman gets her university diploma for free, but her salary is much lower; thus, healthcare is also much cheaper.
* The only car factory in California is Tesla, it makes $50,000-100,000 cars. In a communist country, Lada makes $5,000 cars.
* The California company Apple sells phones similar to many Chinese phones, but the prices are much higher.
