Interesting how folks are blaming meanie DeSantis, especially those that don’t even live in Florida, and even more interesting that folks are deflecting to him versus blaming Sleepy Joe who promised a plan to end the virus quickly
We often joke down here with other Floridians about how much fearmongering there is about Florida because folks complain about him like they do about because Trump, especially since we find it so wonderful and refreshing here compared to PA.

...the only thing that has not happened anywhere in the USA....is Florida's low death rate
as of today...Florida has the 3rd lowest death rate in the entire country.....0.12
If anything....46 states should try and figure out why DeSantis' death rate is so low....at the height of tourist season

Actually DeSantis saved a lot of lives by protecting the elderly population in Florida and prioritizing the elderly to receive vaccines first. He also has made sure that monoclonal antibody distribution sites are up and running for those who start to develop more severe cases of the virus.
DeSantis has the common sense to understand that a healthy 18 year old kid should not be treated like a frail 80 year old nursing home patient.
That is why Florida has fared so well during this whole debacle, despite the greater percentage of older retirees.

Elderly got themselves vaccinated early but it was in spite of all DeSantis' snafus not because of his leadership.
For three months, we've been reporting around Palm Beach County, the third-largest in the state. It's home to old-monied millionaires but also some of the poorest day laborers and farm workers in America.
During those months, we watched Florida's vaccine rollout deteriorate into a virtual free for all and watched as some wealthy and well-connected residents cut the line, leaving other Floridians without a fair shot.
