Oh, she’s a model. Well why didn’t you say this before. That makes all the difference. We must cater to the beautiful idiots of the world.

Sports is becoming politicized with all the Trans competing and ruining the experience for everyone else, and its being allowed by the powers that be.

Our freedoms are being eroded like with anti 2A, anti-BDS legislation, etc etc

Who can blame these athletes for seeing the writing on the wall?

Good for them. If I could pack up and leave, Id too.
I work for CBP.

We still get many wealthy pregnant (almost full term) Chinese women coming in US with B1/B2 visa so their babies can get that US passport. It’s a daily thing at many US international airports

China doesn’t recognize dual citizenship

How funny the same people who blame China for the virus also attack Chinese Americans and tell them to "Go back to China".....well, Eileen Gu did and now you're complaining.....

It's a loophole that the US doesn't seem to want to fix.....so blame these women? Try fixing it if you don't want them to come.

They want to be on an Olympic team, and the US team was too competitive. Easier to get on another team

For those who had never actually lived anywhere other than the US and have the chops to make the US team and trained using US team resources... yeah, it kind of is. Especially when the other option is to represent a genocidal authoritarian dictatorship with a habit of making its outspoken athletes vanish.

Eileen Gu clearly has a lot going for her. She can continue doing her sport and also model and do many many other things. The sky's the limit at this point for her in China. She will be adored by 1.4 billion people and the entire might of a second largest economy (soon to be first) will be behind her.

I think she made a very smart and financially extremely profitable decision choosing China over the US. Smart and talented girl! She stated that she felt a deep connection to China and the culture. She has been a Chinese national since 2019. Well, she will be amply rewarded. I don't think she cares what the US distractors are saying about her. She's a superstar now and will be a very rich one soon.

You may not care, but Gu does care, so she booked out of the country that raised her and gave her opportunities to excel. What Gu did was essentially traitorous.
