Ukraine will have to choose a side, and very quickly, because Russia will not allow Ukraine to remain neutral like Finland and Sweden.
Either the west will need to import NATO troops and bases permanently, and rebuild Ukraine, or Russia will need to decide how they think they can take and hold a country.

I think Putin is going to have to claim some form of ambiguous victory and move on....he is losing....not just in Ukraine but he is losing power in Russia.

for the same reason we ended the 'china initiative' (to combat intellectual theft and domestic spying) and we keep making concession after concession to russia. narrative is one thing. reality is another.
Now Putin has put the Russian Nuclear forces on alert. The world had better understand how dangerous this guy is. He obviously is a loose cannon. If he gets frustrated enough with Ukraines resistance, and Russia not making enough progress. Just what would this nutter decide to do? A very scary situation if it doesn't quickly come to an end.

He done it before during last war with Ukraine. Basically his way to tell Europe and US to stay out of the conflict.
and the guy was a stand up comic a few years back. I have more respect and admiration for the spirit of these people than I do a large chunk of this country. am I a traitor?
Actually so far Europe is not getting involved military and will not. Ultimately there will not be any troops on the ground from Either Europe or US. Putin don't give a crap about sanctions, that is something don't impact him.
